I’m also wanting to find a BMS to run a larger system. So I’m super interested in the responses you get here.
I live off grid on a 48v lead acid. It’s time for a change to LIFEPO. So I was looking at 500ah lifepo cells. Thinking I could do two banks and get 1000ah. But the whole BMS thing is...
Very interested in your progress. I am replacing 800+ ah lead acid 48v system. Want lifepo with Bms. But want to get as much AH as feasible. Was looking at 500ah cells. But BMS really messes with my plans as I can’t find anything to manage that kind of ah.
Ty for the update. It’s important to do so imo.
just curious. what BMS are you using on a 400ah bank. I want to do two 500ah (1000ah) lifepo banks to replace my two 435ah (870ah) lead acid banks.
Excellent. Thank you. I’ll research the Orion. In your experience you think two Orion’s would be the best plan of action ? One per 500ah bank?. I use midnite classics as charge controllers and magnum inverter 240v.
Also. Just to be clear. I read so many posts I clogged my brain and clearly missed the whole point of yours when I asked what BMS you are running when it was So obviously in your post! ?♂️ Apologies making you repeat yourself.
Looks like I need to lean into this research this week. Shunts and contactors are not in my current knowledge base. I built my whole system and my home as well. But lifepo is new to me as well as the technical jargon surrounding them.
