    Eaton battery connector

Thanks, that helps, I use other anderson quick connectors, but couldn‘t find this one.

    Eaton battery connector

Anyone know what this battery connector is, it came out of an Eaton 9390 battery enclosure. Seems like a really nice high amp connector that handles 1/0 wire. Not currently planning on using connectors, but if needed it would need to be beefy. thoughts?

    Eaton HKD-DC

I have an HDK-DC breaker from a high end EATON 9390 UPS battery rack. I see no reason that it couldn’t be used as a DC breaker for a large 48v battery system using server rack batteries. Any one know why this wouldn’t work as a very nice DC breaker?

    F150 lightning Based system

First, the F150 Lightening is not "really" going to be available until 2023 (if you are lucky). However, with that said, there is a video that goes into depth on the home backup power. Tom Moloughney had a detailed discussion with Ford's Energy Services Co-Lead, and Head of Intelligent...

Preliminary Review of Sense Energy Monitor (Sense.com)

Update on Sense… a month later. Sense has attempted to identify more things in use (mostly incorrect). I have added a couple of Kasa energy monitor outlet’s which helps provide information, but not really helping that much. I finally found the massive spikes…it wasn’t an error (unfortunately)...

    Eaton 9390 75kVA UPS

about a year ago, I was buying some server racks from a data center tear down in Tampa and the guy ripping things out said..."hey, I have something you really need..." ya right... well he had a full EATON 9390 75kVA UPS (minus the batteries)... this thing is a beast! He wanted $750 for it and...

Is my DIY ground mound idea stupid?

I have been looking a similar designs, but more than a little concerned about getting them past a permit stage. Has anyone had experience with getting a signed permit for this type of structure?

Preliminary Review of Sense Energy Monitor (Sense.com)

I have had a sense monitor installed in my office/shop for a few weeks now and thought that I would give people some idea of what I like, don’t care about and wish I could do… that I haven’t found yet. The Sense Energy monitor device is a simple power meter that clamps on your incoming main...

    Choosing Equipment for Hybrid System

agreed. I am collect data with a sense clamp monitor on the main incoming lines and I can see the inrush for everything. Going to put a posting up with my observations and see if it is consistent with what others have seen.

    Choosing Equipment for Hybrid System

Ah, I am looking at something similar. But expect that I will need the split phase 240 to run the AC. I am collecting data from “sense” to see what my real load is. Very helpful.

    Choosing Equipment for Hybrid System

One question I have been wondering about Is why go for a 5kW inverter if you are only expecting 700W of load… granted you will see some peak on startup, but everything you list will have low peaks. 3kW would be more than enough? The battery bank really defines how much load you can run without...

    Whole House Planning

I am research a similar sized system, but starting with my office/shop. I installed a Sense Monitor to track usage to size the system. The system peaks around 4kW, so it would seem like a 5kW system would handle it for most of the load. Once the shop is completed, I will size the house which is...

    F150 lightning Based system

Fair points, I will do some modeling and post the results.

    F150 lightning Based system

If i drove the truck every day it would have a similar charge profile. The batteries should have 10yr warranty so that shouldn’t be a problem. Need to do some calculations. This is part of the reason, I wanted to see what others thought. Ford claims the truck will run a house for days, so it...

    F150 lightning Based system

Okay, new to this forum, but I have been working this idea for awhile. My plan is to buy the new F150 Lightning and basically use it as a battery with a 13kW solar panel setup to run the house basically off grid. It will still be grid tied, but shouldn’t need the grid. Here is my thinking...
