Hi all, my eco-worthy lifepo4 30ah has a BMS with a max charge of 20A, discharge of 25.
Does that mean I don't need to fuse to my Giandel 12v inverter?
It's rated to 600w & Will says it's a 60A input.
My battery bank of 4 100a agm 12v batteries is connected with 1awg and 1/0 cables.
The charts I've checked say both sizes will play nice up to 150amps.
I have a 2200w Giandel. Cable lengths are all under 1ft on batteries & 18" on cable to inverter.
The biggest load I'll draw is 1500w at one...
Recently the forum helped me understand something-you can double up on cables to get better AWG (for example two 2/0 AWG'S act as 4/0 cables between a fuse an an inverter).
Is there any problem doing the same on the cables connecting my battery bank?
I have 4x100a AGM's connected with 1 AWG...
Help!
I've done as advised in this thread, changed my cables to equalize the load on all 4 of my 100a AGM batteries.
But it's now shorting when I attempt to connect the circuit.
I need a fresh set of eyes.
Have removed the positive from inverter to the circuit breaker but otherwise this is...
Add eyelets (M10) to Ampere Time charger? Can I cut alligator clips off and splice an SAE connector, then buy exisitng eyelet clips (or manufacture my own?) so long as I stick with same gauge of wire, or beefier?
Thx
15.8 in to controller from solar
13.5 out to battery (under load, we're making yogurt :)
No shunt-based battery monitor attached (I bought an Ai-li but they sent the wiring for the wrong model, and I haven't bought a new one yet).
EDIT: battery chemistry is AGM (4x100Ah)
Max Solar Input...
Covid shortages and cost (shipping to Canada) meant all my cables were scrabbled together.
Am thinking about getting 4/0 welding cables for the inverter.
Also mulling chopping down my 1ft 1/0 battery cables to make all the battery bank connectors all the same 1/0 AWG.
Which would make y next...
Which setting lets you charge battery from the grid but never power loads from the grid?
I know about setting charge voltage at which you switch to the grid to charge your batteries, and about setting charge voltage at which to switch back to batteries,
but how do you tell the Growatt to...
I've confirmed one unit works in both positions and the other doesn't work in either (as far as solar panel input). You raise a good question about the voc and cold weather spikes, but I intentionally over-spec'd the system. I hope there are no holes in my logic?
My panels are 18 V and 5.5A per...
Hey all,
My oldest batteries, a 4-battery AGM bank (about 4 years old) were using the default Renogy Rover charging pattern and one of them swelled up.
I took the bank apart, removed that battery and tested. All of them hold a full charge, as shown by multimeter testing, using an agm-rated...
No Growatt setting changed, but I fixed issue by turning off the AC in circuit breaker. Temporarily.
As soon as I used the microwave on utility, it worked for the rest of the morning on PV/batt even after switching utility back on.
Then, after lunch, the util hogged output again (with batt...
Any reason I can't combine 2 positive wires from 2 arrays into one renogy rover li 40a so long as I keep to under 40a?
It seems simple enough and the plates and screw that hold the pv cables are rates up to 6awg...
So can I put 2x10awg into my PV+ & pv- or is this a no-no, and why?
Thanks for...
I've asked to his Q a few different ways but I'm still not getting an answer that makes sense to me:
With a full 200a battery bank, my Growatt AC/INV light instantly stops flashing (battery mode) & goes solid (utility mode) when I start my 1100w microwave.
The battery bank is full so what...
I'm putting together a second solar array. Can someone tell me if I've got the right idea for step down?
Can a Victron Energy Orion IP20 24/12v *70A* DC converter safely step down a Growatt 24V 3000W Split Phase Solar Inverter Growatt with 80A MPPT
(into 2x 170Ah Renogy *12v*) LifeP04's?
I'm...
Seriously, thanks for showing me vmp vs voc. I guess when I read Max Solar Input Voltage 100VDC I thought I'd be ok.
I read a lot of good reviews of Renogy when I went all-in, but lately I hear only negatives. If I don't luck out with a replacement could you recommend some solid brands to I...
Thanks Steve,
Just so I don't jump to a conclusion: I'm ok with the two 250a fuses, each on a pos terminal, I specced out above then?
Or should I spec them for 225, just at little headroom above the max bms each can deliver, since I don't plan to ever deliver close to the 400 both could supply.
Both have same size arrays of 3x100w panels.
Both wired the same.
One is pulling 0.4a from an array while other sees an actual load.
Is this a conflict I should know about? Did Ibplan my system wrongly?
