I did what Crowz suggested and installed a manual switch. I have attached 3 photos. The 1st(080113.jpg) is a photo of my control board with the dual relay board setting on it. At the bottom, just to the right of center is the mechanical switch that replaced the relay on the right. In the photo...

I called Samlex, got an RMA# from them in an email. I shipped the unit back to Samlex today. Maybe I'll get a new inverter out of this or they'll fix it.
  • Post in thread: The bad 250 Amp circuit breaker

I finally did buy and install the 200 amp Blue Sea breaker. I also finally broke down and bought 4 new 12.8 volt Chin LiFePo4, 300 AH batteries. I wired them 2S2P into my new 24 volt Samlex 3000 Watt Inverter. It works great. Each battery came pre-charged to 14.0 volts. No issues yet.

Is it that maybe I posed this issue in the wrong forum. My project really is experimental so maybe I should have put this inquiry in 'General Discussion and Brainstorming' or 'General Troubleshooting Help' or maybe something else. Could anyone suggest another venue maybe.
  • Post in thread: Energy monitor with NO Wi-Fi

Have you looked at the "EmonLib.h" library for Arduino? Details can be found at: https://openenergymonitor.org/ I have set up such a system within my solar project. All data is saved on a microSD card. I save a month at a time, but probably could record more. My guess is that you'd be limited by...
  • Post in thread: Inverter Remote On/Off Problem

Well the results are, that I still have a problem. I have a sketch running on the Arduino Mega that allows me to set both the Turn On set Point and the Turn Off Set Point. I am using a High on the Mega pin 5 to energize one of the Songle mini relays shown in my photo above. This relay contact...
  • Post in thread: The bad 250 Amp circuit breaker

Thank you Tomthumb62 for your suggestion. After seeing the condition of the contacts of my old Scorpian circuit breaker, I didn't know about the quality differences. Even though I bought another Scorpian breaker, I am looking at the Blue Sea and the Buss breakers, but I didn't see any of the...

Thank you DIYrich, no I never saw the inverter draw more than 70 Amps.
  • Post in thread: The bad 250 Amp circuit breaker

Thank you CharlieBB. When I was referring to 10.00 volts, I was referring to the minimum voltage that the inverter could handle before it shut down. Since my inverter was seemingly shutting off, I thought I was hitting the low limit and suspected the used batteries as the culprit.
  • Post in thread: Inverter Remote On/Off Problem

Thank you v_green57, and Crowz, I did exactly that and came to the conclusion that the problem is in my relay circuit itself. I designed my relay trigger circuit myself and didn't use an opto-isolator in it. I am supposing that because of the lack of isolation the output on my Arduino is...
  • Post in thread: Is it possible to use a 120v relay as an automatic transfer switch?

I had a similar idea except with a little twist. I like the idea of having a Transfer Switch but I want to use the energy that I've collected from solar panels and stored into batteries. I don't want to just sit there waiting for the grid to go down, because mostly, it's dependable and only goes...

My expensive ATS-EMON Lesson I had an idea. I thought it was a good idea. I’m curious about Solar Power. I thought I’d stick my toe in the water and bought a Harbor Freight solar kit. I needed some batteries, but I didn’t want to spend a lot of money so I went to a battery dealer that also...
  • Post in thread: Inverter Remote On/Off Problem

I have a Residential home build solar project that is off grid. I recently purchased a Samlex PST-3000-24 inverter am try to control the On/Off power switch to this unit with a remote mounted relay. In the Owners Manual page 44, a diagram shows the 4 position Terminal Block, showing 3 methods to...
