    Orientation of inverter

That was painful. I waited on hold for two hours and five minutes to talk with Renogy customer service re: air flow on the inverter. The answer is: fan blows outward, sucking air in from the opposite side.

    Orientation of inverter

I based layout on the summer temperatures of the inside of van, figuring to keep batteries as low, thus as cool, as possible. That puts them on the floor. From there, keeping the 2/0 wire as short as possible, the inverter will be mounted above the batteries in a horizontal orientation, under...

Newbie question - Do you guys have an on/off switch with an RV solar set-up?

Take my comment with a grain of salt, as I’m a newbie and I hope I’ll be corrected if wrong here. As I understand it, it’s the batteries that need to be drawn down or cycled at least once a week for the best longevity of said batteries.

    Orientation of inverter

Had the Renogy manual been clearer, with perhaps a diagram, this thread would have been unnecessary. But, I really do appreciate everyone’s patience with me and the input. The orientation plays a significant part in my layout and design as I have a limited number of areas in my work...

    Orientation of inverter

Sorry for not understanding. I’ll stick it in there one, and if it fails it fails, I’ll put the next one in a different way. I should get it right eventually. Odds are 1:6.

    Orientation of inverter

Maybe I should just ask, what is the proper install orientation for an inverter. I mean there’s six sides to an inverter....what side faces up? I’ve read through every one of these manuals for this 400 W system and they leave a lot to be desired. Where is Monk’s brother Ambrose when you need him?

    Orientation of inverter

So, any idea what the manual is talking about when it warns not the install inverter vertically?

    Orientation of inverter

Thank you, that makes much more sense as far as what (fan) is inverted. I was planning on mounting it fan down assuming the fan sucks in and pushes the heat out the top. Looks like I can do that.

    Orientation of inverter

I thought I had the layout of each component figured out, but then after reading the manual for Renogy’s 2000 W inverter I’m back to the drawing board. ....bottom of page 9... https://www.renogy.com/content/RNG-INVT-2000-12V-P2/INVT-P2-Manual.pdf “ WARNING The inverter should never be mounted...

2000 W inverter wire and fuse size

Thank you very much for the input.... I’ll be getting connectors from the local marina shop here. A little bit on the high end as far as price, but all quality goods.

2000 W inverter wire and fuse size

just for my understanding... 2000 Watts/.85 conv. factor/ 12 V = 196 A is there a disadvantage to using #3/0? im just thinking of the potential 4000 W peak draw.

2000 W inverter wire and fuse size

line length is short, round trip approx. 6ft.

2000 W inverter wire and fuse size

Unfortunately the renogy lifepo4 that I have can only be combined in parallel.

2000 W inverter wire and fuse size

Thanks. That’s the first I’ve seen the low voltage cut off used. Inverter in question lists 10.0V +-.5. Any preference on fuse type? I’m thinking either ANL fuse or a MRBF terminal fuse?
