Batteries: Victron LFP Smart compared with Victron LFP SuperPack

Thanks Kish One of the options I was considering was a MultiPlus Compact 12V/2000VA/80A-30/230V VE.Bus Inverter/Charger. That system included a VE.Bus BMS wired with three 100Ah LFP Smarts. I decided not to have the Multiplus. Also decided to have Superpack batteries. What specific VE.Bus...

Batteries: Victron LFP Smart compared with Victron LFP SuperPack

Thank you Kish for your answer. I had looked at the datasheets and mentioned the different charge/discharge capability in my question. The SuperPack 100Ah will only handle 50A continuous in and out, so three in parallel will add to 150A, and I'm thinking this will be fine for modest consumers...

Batteries: Victron LFP Smart compared with Victron LFP SuperPack

The Superpack doesn’t have Bluetooth which for me is a good thing. I’ll be living in my van and don’t want 24/7 EMF in my space. The Superpack has way less charge/discharge capability. But I’ll be wiring 3 x 100Ah in parallel which will be sufficient for 300 watt solar and a DC/DC 60amp...

How to trickle charge FLA starter battery from LiFePO4 house battery?

Looking at the tech info on the new model - AMP-L-Start - answers the question why a trickle charger would care what the house battery is. The turn on/turn off voltages are important, and the Votronic that I was considering doesn't have the necessary jumpers. I thought you had the Trik-L-Start...

How to trickle charge FLA starter battery from LiFePO4 house battery?

Thanks for your answer. I can't find the Trik-L-Start either, though it appears to be pretty much the same as the Votronic unit detailed in my question. Like you, I'm wondering - if these trickle charge units give energy to the start battery, which is an unchanged FLA, why it would care what...

How to trickle charge FLA starter battery from LiFePO4 house battery?

I’m part upgrading a 12 year old Sprinter LWB camper. I’ll retain the main management/wiring system. This provides shore charging of house or starter batteries but not both together. Additionally a PV panel charges through a single output PWM to the house bank. I want my starter battery to...

Confussed about series vs Parallel is shade and low light

Thanks. All the panels will be exactly the same. You're saying I cannot mix unequal voltages. That's a shame. I think all three panels in parallel will have a shading problem, since one panel is at the other end of a long van roof. This is more complicated than I expected.

Confussed about series vs Parallel is shade and low light

Could I ask please a related question rather than starting a new thread? I have space around skylights etc. for only three 100watt panels on my van roof. My plan is to series connect two panels at one end of the van roof to increase voltage in low light, so the MPPT is operating for maximum...
