I'm not an expert but I would say after searching and watching much solar you should build a tilting bracket. Buy or build... The cheapest thing is homedepot steel brackets with holes used to mount garage door opening mechanism. It's full of holes and can be made to tilt any direction? Hope...
  • Post in thread: All in One MPPT+INVERTER or MPPT and then INVERTER

I'm new at this but I would say from experience of having a item that has added items inside? If You want to change something your limiting yourself. You cant , have to replace completely. If something broke it's all broke. I buy individual items and combine.then if something went bad maybe...
  • Post in thread: Help : Are they Dead or can they be saved.

Take a peice of tape and tape batery and put its value on it and you can refer easily when checking it . Dates time voltage are great references to fall back on ? Trickle charge to get life back in . Then make a test and run down check voltages and charge again to get a cycle going not storage...

  • Post in thread: Help : Are they Dead or can they be saved.

Dont thank me . It's up to you to read up . Smooth Joey sent me this the other day as I wanted to understand 4 batteries in parallel and in my mind knew there was other was to connect up to and feed from opposite sides enjoy that is I am enjoying that book to . Thank you smooth joey .
  • Post in thread: Romex for dc mains cable

I would read the wire manual you showed me it states do not use ac wire for d c wire . Do not use thick stranded either? Come on smoothjoey only use on ac side solid or thick stranded . Would it work yes for a while .is it safe ?no !
  • Post in thread: Bms needed with 4 lithium iron phosphate batteries

Do you need to add a bms system to a lithium iron phosphate batery bank x4 -12v. ?
  • Post in thread: Renogy/ lithium iron phosphate / thermals

Does anyone know about the renogy lithium battery loose bolt and terminal issue? The #8mm extra fine bolt threads 1.25mm and the terminal socket are not a great fit. Its definitely 2 different sizes. Probably a cast issue? The bolt is really loose and if I tighten theres no torque specific...
  • Post in thread: Renogy/ lithium iron phosphate / thermals

    Its a m 8 x .75 mm pitch thread
  • Post in thread: Off grid battery connections

This helps solve most everything except pulling power and feeding 3 items. And there placement. Should mppt and inverter be connected at same point as dc to dc charger ? Should I cross feed opposite on batery bank
  • Post in thread: Renogy/ lithium iron phosphate / thermals

Extra fine .still waiting on renogy to give a answer to this issue.
  • Post in thread: Off grid battery connections

Yes just trying to connect dc to dc controller and cant get answers on place to connect at . Though it would be best to fead the end of parallel battery bank. Versus connect at same side mppt and inverter are . And wondering if I need anything to help balance x4 battery bank
  • Post in thread: Bms needed with 4 lithium iron phosphate batteries

Thank you for the proper language and the needs of a bms . What would you recommend?
  • Post in thread: Bms needed with 4 lithium iron phosphate batteries

I did see his video I'll have to watch again . What brand would you use and is it true it's not good to have more than 4 lithium in parallel
  • Post in thread: Off grid battery connections

I have a renogy system (1)40 amp mppt (4) 100w. Panels connected in series (4) lithium iron batteries in parallel (1)2000w inverter (1) 20 amp dc to dc charger My question is after I have battery connections in parallel to a (4) stud post negative and (4) stud post positive I go directly to...
  • Post in thread: Off grid battery connections

Yes , this is what I like to do for some reason in my mind of power being used at same time power coming in ? Was bugging me thank you
  • Post in thread: Off grid battery connections

Love this info my new bible!
  • Post in thread: Off grid battery connections

Sorry I had no connection to reply. Yes I'm very happy with wire guide and I'm already hooked up with diagonally and I will put my charger on the end of my battery connections
  • Post in thread: Bms needed with 4 lithium iron phosphate batteries

I understand completely on this return reply. I'm only interested in what was best for longevity for just the 4 lithium . I don't want to get crazy involved with much, but a app ready unit could be useful . I'm not needing expensive . The relay set up sounds interesting . Where can I read and...
  • Post in thread: Help : Are they Dead or can they be saved.

You should be able to save . But never put a battery on the ground, has always been a rule ! I would probably say you need to trickle change each one separately and check levels? Check them to see if they hold a charge after a few days to determine if they will still work . Distilled water is...
  • Post in thread: Off grid battery connections

Renogy called me back and said it's my wireing? Only 2 ways to connect correct or incorrect. I did what was said to do . Probably try one more time asking about it then return it I guess dont need if I cant set values?? Made in china !@?$
  • Post in thread: If you had 2000 dollars

I would build a alternator to motor generator to add to a separate battery bank and put some stuff on one set up and the rest on solar set up . Or a perpetual magnetic generator .
  • Post in thread: Renogy batteries

The bolts that came with batteries are 8 m x .75mm pitch . Watching and waiting on renogy reply. Was eventually going to do as you suggested oral target. Hoped it was a good brand by viewing videos nobody mentioned the looseness issue. Think it's the company's way to get rid of them and phase...
  • Post in thread: Help : Are they Dead or can they be saved.

Put 2 batteries together to make a 12 v and charge slow . Get readings from independently first then connect 2 together then get 12v reading and slow charge for half the day and check all voltages to see its potential
  • Post in thread: Romex for dc mains cable

Thick stranded lots over voltage drop
  • Post in thread: Help : Are they Dead or can they be saved.

Download this book I cant figure how to share link . Victronwireing book Look up this book smooth joey showed me . Www.victronenergy.com

  • Post in thread: Renogy batteries

I went to a few regular places lowes depo ect then industrial bolt and marine supply this thread is super fine and one size to small or stud base is cast and cooled to big? I'm still looking
  • Post in thread: Off grid battery connections

But do you think it's good or better to balance the input to both opposing ends of adiagonally/ parallel set up .versus everything connected on one end .
  • Post in thread: Renogy batteries

I'm using original bolts from renogy which are 8mm x.75mm . And this fit is very loose .if tightening up it strips out it's so loose I dont tighten like you could with quality product
  • Post in thread: Renogy batteries

I was going to order a tap for m9 and m10 and stay with the same .75mm threads . But came to thinking I could change thread pitch to something standard and ready available . Thank you for helping me think threw. My better half passed and my head still isn't fully focused
  • Post in thread: Romex for dc mains cable

Insulation an thicknesses of insulation are different dc has more and ac has less . DC wire is more practical for direct current and ac wire is designed and more practical for alternating current . But who's to say you cant use it ? All codes came from experience and or accidents even deaths...
  • Post in thread: Romex for dc mains cable

Theres thick stranded and thin. Thin is for dc wireing and thick is for ac wiring. The current travel's around a wire not in it less strands less power more strands more flow on opposite end ? It can be done your way but is it smart to do . I say no and I'm not a great person to ask I just...
  • Post in thread: Renogy batteries

I just kept on them about how much slop that was present and I asked if it's so important to have a tight connection what is the measurement of tightness and that couldn't give one . Mine were in my truck and when I drive I had to check its tightness and because of warranty I didn't just tap out...
  • Post in thread: Off grid battery connections

Guess I'll have to try and fail to learn what's proper as it takes a long time to seek out correct info 100% of the time . I read ,I ask ,I try? Even on the forum you ask a question and pending you product of use or lack of experience you dont get your answers. You been helpful as smooth Joey...
  • Post in thread: Off grid battery connections

I real like this book and will try to have it printed thank you. I purchased a volt meter and it's a renogy?? Cant get coustomer service? 24 hr. return time . In trouble shooting says the symptoms ar backwards wireing? I put b- to battery negative and p- is my feed to terminal posts...
  • Post in thread: Off grid battery connections

It's real simple? But than now I'm having an issue ? I'm fully charged batteries. 100% couldn't set 100% and it beeps and blinks ? Trouble shoot said its wired in reverse? But label is on shunt maybe sticker is upside down and not on opposite side of shunt ?
  • Post in thread: Renogy batteries

I have 4 renogy lithium iron phosphate batteries that are to be bms protected already. Do I need to add a external bms?
  • Post in thread: Off grid battery connections

    Simple but not
  • Post in thread: Off grid battery connections

Yes did this correctly but its flashing and beeping so its wired incorrectly
  • Post in thread: Bms needed with 4 lithium iron phosphate batteries

Do renogy lithium iron phosphate batteries need a bms if they have a built in already? They aren't the smart battery.
  • Post in thread: Newbie question

It's easy to put a fuse tap in a fuse location and get 12v and 12v switched from ignition. Or you go solar panel and connect to a pre made battery system or build a battery set up and put a controller on it to safely monitor. But I would connect to car . I have a goal zero and always have to...
  • Post in thread: Bms needed with 4 lithium iron phosphate batteries

Hello P. Do renogy lithium iron phosphate batteries need a bms if one is built into itself alone ? They are not the smart battery.
  • Post in thread: Off grid battery connections

Like video . Did this correctly thus I wet to terminal post than to load
  • Post in thread: Bms needed with 4 lithium iron phosphate batteries

Hello Even if the battery is to have a built in bms in each already?
  • Post in thread: Romex for dc mains cable

Safety and efficiency. Thin strands for long runs . Do you ever see a solid wire exstention cord?no but you can do it it's not practical or safe
  • Post in thread: Off grid battery connections

Something on their product is wrong . I'm pretty good with tinkering
  • Post in thread: Renogy batteries

Thank you . For the information. I wish I bought a different brand but I'm in the middle of eventually upgrading brands? Watching video of will made me ok with renogy. My new issue is its terminal coming loose periodically. The bolts don't match the terminal socket so sloppy will strip if...
  • Post in thread: Bms needed with 4 lithium iron phosphate batteries

It's the battires own built in bms . I was wondering if a external bms was needed but I'm told no
  • Post in thread: Bms needed with 4 lithium iron phosphate batteries

My firs post I dint see the built in bms on the renogy battery. Only asking and more searching and giving brand name did you solve . Sorry and thanks for your brain
