  • Post in thread: As Green a newbie as green could get !!

Thank you both Michaelk & Daxo I know how tempting it is to only get involved in threads where you learn or get something back, I am guilty off this myself, on many forums topics that I excel on (like, Tig welding, classic car restoration etc) , I find it difficult to read a thread or topic...
  • Post in thread: Choosing a solar panel for the British weather

Its been a long hard journey for me for some reason, not quite there yet, but I am up and running to a point!!! Its now time to add a small solar array to my current system (Shneider xw+ and four server rack batteries. currently charging via a chargeverter and a Gen as I am off grid (not tied...

  • Post in thread: Choosing a solar panel for the British weather

I have been doing a little you tube watching (as reading and being dyslexic don't go grate together) BUT reading/seeing between the lines, I am swaying more to smaller panels, but more of them!!!?? what do you guys think??? it is heartbreaking when you watch a string of lager panels wired...
  • Post in thread: Help us design a rack-mounted system for the UK

@Ben@Fogstar just wanted to add to this topic, many thanks, my three rack batteries have arrived, not opened then as yet. one question for me and the others. do your rack batteries have built in pre charge resistors???
  • Post in thread: Schneider XW Vs Eg4 chargeverter charging.

I might be mistaken, but I think you can disable the Gen support, and so the gen will still charge but not support loads.
  • Post in thread: Wanted Schneider

That is very interesting to note. The seller's asking price was not a great deal less than a insight home, and the SPC is not firmware updatable. after MUCH trouble, I have finally managed to find a USA dealer willing to post me a new insight home to me here in the uk. offthewall I thank you...
  • Post in thread: Schneider Conext XW config

    Thanks SamG340
  • Post in thread: Can I select a close/matching charging voltage as the inverter does not state Lifepo4

I ended up buying a Schneider conect XW plus (not the pro) they are one and the same thing, I could not be happier with the suggestion you gave me, I cant thank you enough. Mnay thanks
  • Post in thread: Wanted Schneider

I must have gotten lucky, because Signature solar came through in the end, although it was quite a task. so, on reflection, they were the only supplier to want to deliver to the Uk, but it did take some doing I can only be appreciative as I am NOT spoilt for choice.
  • Post in thread: Help us design a rack-mounted system for the UK

  • Post in thread: Schneider technical help plz

Hi Guys I was just about to fire up the Schneider Conext XW for the first time, but noticed something I would like confirmation on plz The Schneider has three terminal blocks, AC load/grid in/generator in. all the neutrals are common (they are connected together even though they have...

  • Post in thread: AC SPC. do I need a MCB ??

Inverter is not outside, Have done a little more research, it might appear a better idea to come from one off the consumer units MCB to the SPD in its own separate encloser. I have no preference as to how to fit it, to be honest, its more lack of knowledge that I was thinking of doing it my...
  • Post in thread: Grounding rods and straps video

as a learning exercise, I've since been doing basic research on earthing buildings for lightning strikes, it seems they all favour attracting the lightning Strick via a high placed higher attracting copper element and channelling it well away from anything.
  • Post in thread: Schneider connection

user error lol May as well be honest, dim whit forgot to search and connect the insight home via wi fi its all new to me and far to many protocols for me to remember, takes days, weeks and years for my brain to take it all in lol ok what are some good settings to look to change with my...
  • Post in thread: Struggling in the UK

I am not convinced the Victron multiplus will do what I want it to do, I need a inverter charger that can handle high inrush currents from inductive loads like air compressors, milling machines and lathes
  • Post in thread: Not sure I trust them !!!!

I have the Tristar MPPT (I got the 45amp one at half price from a known seller) I am after the meter for it
  • Post in thread: Can I select a close/matching charging voltage as the inverter does not state Lifepo4

Take just one off my smaller air compressors running on 10amp continuous 10amps times 230v =2300w 2300w times a factor off 6 (inrush on induction electric motors) and we have 13,600watts The max rating off the Schneider is 12,000 watts for x amount of seconds You now can understand what...
  • Post in thread: Cabinet busbars and standoffs

I am happy to except your word on what you have and have seen, as said, mine are brass. it would be too expensive for me to change them out. I would have hopped, Fogstar UK would know what they were doing
  • Post in thread: Choosing a solar panel for the British weather

I like drawings lol that is SO MUCH easier to understand lol I am getting sold on the Tristar, looks a good bit of kit. ill probably end up going for siz panels but possibly the 635W as I will only be getting six
  • Post in thread: Cabinet busbars and standoffs

perhaps Ben@fogstar might wish to comment via this thread, as he is on our forum. https://diysolarforum.com/threads/help-us-design-a-rack-mounted-system-for-the-uk.46950/page-7#post-797362 I will be giving them a email directly, only my last email to Fogstar regarding battery paramotors got...
  • Post in thread: Can I select a close/matching charging voltage as the inverter does not state Lifepo4

I dont think that will handle 14000w of inrush current for a few seconds the Low frequency inverter I was looking at says it can handle up to 18000watts of inrush for 20seconds
  • Post in thread: Schneider connection

God I hate all things technical, give me a manual lathe or milling machine and I am your man CAN ANY ONE plz help me with a New problem The password I was using and logging on with wont work I wrote it down so I know it was working. I have not written it down wrong as I logged in with it a...
