65A on a 100A busbar, still too hot!

I finished building a 12v battery pack. My target max current was 100 amps so everything was oversized for some headroom. One of the challenges was voltage drop across any connection. If you measure the voltage drop from a connection point to the terminal or wire connecting to it you can...

Daly BMS connected Bluetooth but no data

My batteries have been in storage for a while. Yesterday I decided to check them and found the no data bug. The reason I am posting is because there is a little more to the puzzle. I have two packs with Daly BMSs. One works fine with the smart Bms 2.1.0 and the other doesn’t, go figure. Using...

My Experience with a Daly Smart BMS / BT

It needs some charge current to activate. Charge through the BMS. After it activates your can remove the charger and it will continue to operate. The BT port will Shut Down after some period of time. The Shut Down Delay is controlled by a parameter in the Configuration menu. There was a thread...

New Daly "Smart" BMS w/ Communication. (80-250A)

Yes for sure, the temperature probe is displayed on the app so it ahould be easy to monitor.

New Daly "Smart" BMS w/ Communication. (80-250A)

Its from Harbor Freight. Everything fit very well. I padding around the batteries is repurposed shipping materials

New Daly "Smart" BMS w/ Communication. (80-250A)

I also agree, the batteries packs I am building are for my RV and you can see will not ventilated. Very much heat here would be a problem.

New Daly "Smart" BMS w/ Communication. (80-250A)

I had a Hall effect device and a shunt hooked up in early testing and all three were fairly close in value. For the SOC meter i cant say. When first used the BMS, the SOC meter was way off on one of the BMSs 75% vs 100% (i am building two packs) with similar battery voltages. Contacting Daly I...

New Daly "Smart" BMS w/ Communication. (80-250A)

Using a Daly 200A smart bms I have drawn 180 A for 5 minutes. As with most bms systems the output wires are undersized for the rated current. In this case they started to warm up. My suggestion is to derate the “marketed” capacity by 50%

New Daly "Smart" BMS w/ Communication. (80-250A)

I am new to this forum and lipo/bms but not to electronics. Just updating this year old thread to help other like myself get information faster. Building two battery packs using the Daly smart bms i have determined the low temp cut off does work and can be set with the app via Bluetooth. I...

How to reset daly bms after low voltage cut off

My system has a Daly smart BMS that shut down because of a low battery. As the battery voltage rebounded after the load was removed i used the reboot function on the app to reset the error.

    How much Nm torque???

I drilled mine for 5/16-16 and used a bottom tap. Secures with locktite assembled the buss bars with bolts. Minimal voltage drop (.001v) between the terminal and buss bar pulling 175 amps.

BMS shutting off system power when over voltage?

I have been building a couple of packs and bench testing them for a while. Running them with currents in the 20 amp range everything seemed to be ok. Only when the current draw got higher 50-80 amps did I notice the terminals heating up. The problem was always the bus bar connection. But like...
