What climate are you in? can you tell me more about the environment you plan to mount these? we just ordered the Growwatt and the inverter.
Also i use this calculator to calc my VOC. I would call signature solar and ask them...
All, See attached proposed diagram for connecting Heating pad for my Lithium phosphate batteries
I bought at 48v to 12v step down converter, it comes with a 20 amp fuse connected to the 48v hot side.
We already have 2x 48v batteries but our problem is that they get very cold during the winter...
Right now, we are in our planning phase and we realized that the Well pump we ordered: 5 GPM Well pump takes a TON of wattage to run (240 V @ 11.2 amps= 2640 watt/hr)
Right now in our calcs, we have a 26 gallon pressure tank that would be depleted most days. (25-50 Gallons per day, 2 refills...
Actually i have a similar question as well, i have a Honda EU2200 watt generator. its ac output is 120 Volts. 15Amps.
My battery is a 5.0Kw 48V 100AH.
So what kind of charger would i need and how long would it take to charge my battery from zero?
would this charger work as well?? 48V 35Amp charger
Question: We hooked out our battery, growatt, and panels and had the Battery sending power to our Loads through the growatt. Unfortunately we had a cloudy day but our panels were getting Some light and sending a few volts to the growatt (measured with volt meter).
My question is as followed...
We just hooked our panels up to our Growatt 5000Es, and the growatt was not registering they were there. We have 8 Panels 300w (45V 8amps) hooked up in 2S4P (90V 32Amps). Our battery is 48V. so we figured the sunlight was too little or our panels our wired incorrectly. But shouldn't the symbol...
I cant seem to figure out the wiring set up for 8 panels in a 2S 4P configuration. Can someone link a picture or diagram?
I need to calculate how many 2-way and 4-way MC4 Connectors I need.
We plan to buy this LiFePO4 battery and store it in a shed outside (somewhat insulated). Only problem is that temps can get down to low 15s outside and low30s/High20s in the structure when we dont have the heat running. I would normally buy a heating pad but these batteries are incased in thier...
Okay so AGM Batteries for the cold weather. I might just jerry rig a heating pad around the battery box, but i reached out to the BigBattery guys to ask about heating solutions during the cold weather. We also get similar temperatures as you do. Not as cold as -10. but low teens and single digits.
Thanks! would love to know more about your set up and your cloudy days as well! So you only get 10Kw during the day?? or for that hour?
I will DM you. And we are planning on 1kw-1.5kw solar cell system (6x250W). and have a 2200 honda generator as a back up for cloudy days (Not sure if that will...
Yep, Just realized that after calling signature solar. And wait, 18 Amps max? where are you reading that by chance? I checked the specs but its said max PV charge current amp is 100 amps...
Also just wondering, where are you located? and what is your sun hours like?
We plan on getting this water pump actually :
groundfos 1HP SO with my math that's 240V at 11.2 amps so 2,688watts per hour of use? So if we only use it for 15mins, that's around a day that is 672Watts. They say it has a soft start, are you saying these still surge at insanely high wattage...
So i wanted to get some opinion on setting up a separate system, 100W panel with a small battery that would run a heating pad for our Bigger 5KW LiFePO4 battery.
Our specs (48V 5.12KW LIFePO4 battery from signature solar, 48V growatt 5000es, and 4S2P, 2,280 Watt solar array)
We currently have...
question on this, the wire used to connect From the 48v bus bar to the 48v-12v converter... is there a certain gauge i need for the high voltage?
The converter has 16 gage wire... My batteries to the bus bar to my growatt are all 2 AWG.... SO should i just stick with 16 Gage?
Again, to clarify, we are trying to design a solution for our worst case scenario: Snow on our Main Panels, Our main 5kw Battery shuts off due to < 20% discharge, and we are not there to clean off panels.
In that case, we would want a separate 100W panel at a steep angle to act as a back up and...
Question, What angle do you have your solar panels at? from the image they look nearly vertical? Also with out getting into specifics, what region are you in??
we have 8 x 300 watt panels at 30 degrees in western NY. they are mounted on our roof. My uncle wants to create a steeper angle to...
Hi all,
Running into some battery issues with our current set up
Growatt 5000 es,
1x G4LL LiFePOWER 4 battery (Runs great) (this battery but no LED screen) (Picture Battery A)
1x LiFe POWER4 battery - Running into issues Link (Battery B)
Issues with the Eg4 battery include:
Unbalanced...
OH my goodness. that's right, so my solar array is above 2000w, is there a way to put two growatts in tandem and would that up the wattage capacity for the solar array input?
If not, it looks like i will have to upgrade the whole inverter/batteries/ system to 48 volts then?
Right now, with...
Got it, the 18 amp max is news to me... So looks like the max parallel I can have is 2. not 3. that's a bummer.
We are located in upstate NY so mostly cloudy and we probably wont generate that much energy.
Another question for you, what kind of DC breaker do you have from your Panels to your...
Yep based in US, what the difference? between 50 and 60?
So if I'm reading these graphs correctly, at say 300ft of Head, I'm getting 1124Watts used. (So total watts or watt hours?), 6.63 GPM, NPSH of 15ft.
It still doesn't tell me what it's total watt hours used to fill 50 gallons, and the...
I feel like an idiot, but I just checked my specs. our min VDC for array is 120 Volts. and our max is 450 V-DC.
So I will be putting them in series!
With min VDC, is that VMP or VOC of the panel array?
So i just posted about the issue i had in this post. Check it out
But just to be clear, you've had no issues since then? and everything is charging equally? did you have any alarms go off at all?
the more details the better. thanks in advance.
So my Growatt 5000 ES, off grid has a generator input, but apparently you can only run your AC loads off the AC input (generator). you can't charge your 48V batteries off your AC input? I called signature solar who sold me the inverter. as well.
Got it, i will keep looking then for a 48v charger to use. thanks! ALso i have a growatt 5000 es, and the manual has a AC input to Battery mode, but apparently i dont think it stepps up the charge from 12v to 48V.
thats a great idea to put the heating pads in Series. I did not think about that.
And at the end of the hunting season, Yes, we would unplug everything. But there are two-week gaps where we leave things plugged in and we are not there to wipe the snow off the panels. One issue though with our...
