New of course to Solar and want to specifically build a dedicated Solar and Battery storage system for my home A/C.

I would like to inquire the information to efficiently build an off grid system for my heating and air conditioner. I have a standard A/C system for a 2,400 sq ft home. I would like to find a programmable system that activates and deactivates the A/C in 15 minute on / off intervals. I believe this would extend the battery storage through the night and enable the system to fully recharge during the day with the proper solar array and Power Wall.

I do not have electrical experience and would need a electrical advice and or contacts here in Arizona.

You need to provide more details about your AC. Swamp cooler, compressor based, split system? Hugely different power requirements. If compressor based, you are going to need A LOT of batteries and big inverters. If the unit is a heat pump, you get the high power requirements during the winter too.

I live a few mile north of Scottsdale with the same desire, off grid, AC. The compromise I made it to limited it to cooling one fully enclosed room which can be done with about 900 watts of power continuously. With a 300 amp 24 volt bank (two batteries, one at 24 v and 200amps one at 24 v and 100 amps switchable) and solar assist from a 1kw PV array during the day I can run the AC unit 6-7 hours, but would not be able to get the batteries fully charged at the same time, so I have not achieved continuous cooling of even one room, one day. Your plan to power a full home AC/heating unit is going to take a massive setup.

I'm just brain storming... They have 12vdc refrigerator units that use a compressor and they are more efficient than using a 110vac unit going through an invertor, so maybe they have small 12vdc AC units? But all these AC units look like room units, not whole house units.

What's your budget for this system?
