Hi
Having all sorts of problems trying to connect SolarAssistant to my Growatt 6000ES

On the USB ports why do I have 0 selected and how do I "select" the correct port?
Thanks
Richard

See the documentation on this page, you might not have the right cable or it's not detecting due to a bad USB port or some other issue preventing it from detecting the inverter.

HI
Thanks for your reply.
I forgot to purchase the USB type B cable from Solar Assistant when I got the Orange Pi device fully assembled with power supply.
So I purchased this one locally.

I am sure that I followed their instructions but it never gives me any USB port to chose.

Hi
i should have looked at my post about the USB cable a while back.
It was pointed out that I should have the correct cable as it would have come with the Growatt.
Just checked and there was one.
Plugged it in but still had to power off SA unit twice before I could get the WIFI....then it came up with USB UART port.
Tried to go to SA charts page and I get "Looks like you're not connected to a network" error.

So will this setup work.....
SA unit connected to power supply and USB cable to inverter
LAN/patch cable from SA unit to old Win10 computer...that is NOT connected to internet.

Will this allow me to monitor SA without using WIFI ?
Thanks
Richard

Solar Assistant uses some features such as the graphing tool that I’m pretty sure needs access to the internet.

You don’t need to use wifi on SA if you would rather use an Ethernet cable and connect it to your local network. But, either way SA needs to be on your local network WiFi or not and I’m pretty sure needs internet access to display certain components of its interface.
