https://www.mdpi.com/2076-3417/10/21/7919 Just for grins and giggles I looked up the affect of heat sinks applied to the backs of solar panels. Almost all studies showed an increase of 10% while reducing panel heat by 8+ degrees. Biggest problem. Cost of .60 c/kw. Copper base w copper fins showed best result.

Thank you it was "cool"

Back when I was learning just how much my panel array was affected by high summer temps. here in Phoenix (quite a lot), I thought that maybe a way to kill two birds with one stone would be to glue (with appropriate high-temp adhesive) mats like these to the back of panels:

Use them for domestic water heating instead of warming hugely wasteful personal swimming pools.

Lotta work to make it happen, project for somebody else. It was easier to go over to SanTan and buy a few more panels.

Well a cheap way really is use water.
You can use rain water for it .
Rain water do not have chalk.
And just pump it against the underside of the solar panel.
Funny thing the roof will cool down to.
The water what come back from it after spraying come back thanks to the water gutter back in to a other tank and filter that back to the main tank.

Set the tanks in the ground so the water is cool and stay cool.
One cheap way to do it.

One time that rain water wil be empty.
So have a big tank so you can handel it.
Do you have winter in your country.
Set it thanks deep in to the ground.

the deeper it gets, the warmer the tank stays.

It will not be a allround systeem .
Its all base on the country you are
And if you have house with next to you water .
Think like a sea or somting els you can use that.
So long you use filters

Rainwater? What rainwater? ;-)

Yeahhhh...not saying that wouldn't work but I would rather that the water was contained. And an asphalt shingle roof that is kept wet for more time than is necessary is not a good thing...

Metal roof (which most of us probably don't have) might be OK, but still...homeowner's insurance provider would freak.
