I'm upgrading my solar and looking to buy an additional mppt (currently using the axpert king but it's limited)
Looks like Victron MPPT are the golden standard but pretty expensive
So I'm wondering if there are other mppts with the same quality / performance but cheaper?

One thing you can't buy back is time. I'm never going to get the time back I've spent fiddling with Epever charge controllers apps and software. They were cheaper, and didn't perform too poorly, but now the software is an every few month battle to keep working with nightmare support. The Victron stuff I replaced the Epever controllers with on things I care about uptime for, have been rock solid performers and their software updates are transparent to me, it just keeps working with no fuss. Save your valuable time, don't cheap out. I absolutely do not regret spending the extra $$$.

Buy once, cry once😅. Compared to some others out there Victron is more money. But the total paid isn't really that much compared to the use you will get out of it over time.

I switch from Victron to epever-nd series.
Wy ?
The victron can not handel the heat on the boat .
If the boat its close and themp go up over 60 celcius the victron will shutdown on a point.
The epever can handel it with no problem.
Is the victron bad ?
No its not the victron charger have a ip rating lot higher.
So really its just wat je need to use and wat spot you use.
And the temperature you have to set it

What you may want to worry about is that the Victron is protecting you from something the Epever isn't. Bad things happen when things overheat.

You do know that epever can handel the heat more.
Its bigger so it can do it ?
Its design to van handel it. ,?
Temp today inside .

See picture 75/15 vs a epever 150/20 model

YEP the ABYC is a gold standard in decades of harsh environment experience for dc micro grids, Rock solid no BS approach when afloat.

I suppose RVs can get pretty toasty if closed up in the desert. In KSA a car would get to 80C inside if left out in the midday sun (60C if you could find some free shade). FYI you can tell when its over 50C cos the camels sit down. If had 55C air temp. You overheat in 3 hours exposure, need 3L/hr water - those were the days (before 9/11 KSA was a fun place to work)
