Solark 15k... going crazy with trying to understand Time Of Use...

My setup:
Solark 15k
10KW of solar
304 AH batteries, two of them, managing them I'm using Batrium BMS.

My goal would be to use the batteries during the mid peak and high peak hours. These hours are:
3pm- 7pm Mid Peak
7pm-11pm High peak

How do I set the parameters to meet this objective? I have tried to set the above times but the Solark comes with time brackets that don't exactly fit my need. I also have Solar Assistant up and running but it yielded not clues as to where to start. I also see the "Grid Peak Shaving" setting on the inverter but when I set it, nothing happens. Any direction would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

  1. Make sure your "Limit Power to Home" and "Time of Use" is checked. You might also want to check "Grid Sell", depending upon your utility contract
  2. in Time of Use settings, set your time brackets, something like
    1. 00:00 (SoC 100%)
    2. 05:00 (SoC 100%)
    3. 09:00 (SoC 100%)
    4. 15:00 (Power 10kw, SoC 50%)
    5. 19:00 (Power 10kw, SoC 5%)
    6. 23:00 (SoC 100%)
This will tell the inverter to only use batteries from 3pm-7pm as long as battery is over 50% and from 7pm to 11pm as long as battery is over 5% charged. Make sure "Charge" and "Sell" are unticked for all of the time slots.
No need to enable Grid Peak Shaving.

This is great, thank you!
I have net metering so I can sell back, but I only want to sell from PV, never from battery. I want the batteries to charge from solar first then sell. Here are the settings I put in the Solark. What is the difference between "limited power to Home" and "Limited power to Load", in my mind my load is my home?

What is the difference between "limited power to Home" and "Limited power to Load",
This depends on how your inverter is hooked up. If it's between meter and your main panel, then they're the same. Otherwise, Load would mean anything connected downstream to LOAD terminals of your Sol-Ark and Home would mean anything reported by the current sensors (CT) installed (presumably at the main panel).
For instance, in my set up, I have a critical loads sub-panel which is the only thing I want to power with batteries in case of grid loss. This includes everything in my house except HVAC condensors and ovens. So, that sub-panel is my 'Load' and sub-panel + excluded HVAC/ oven circuits would be my 'Home'.

My inverter IS in between meter and main panel with an inverter bypass switch. Perfect, this makes sense, thank you!

Working great, thanks again for the immense help!
