If it has a fan, I’ll be getting my $ back on all four of the ones I have, 2 V1 and 2 V2. I believe if there were a fan it would be evident in the pictures he has sent.@lapsmith there is a fan in the unit?
This looked like a fan to me but I've never heard a fan running is why I was askingIf it has a fan, I’ll be getting my $ back on all four of the ones I have, 2 V1 and 2 V2. I believe if there were a fan it would be evident in the pictures he has sent.
The coils in the heat sink are on the AC side for filtering. The DC coil for energy storage is on the main board.Do you know the purpose of the coils in the heat sink? What do they do?
There is a small fan inside, but i've never heard it running, and it is basically worthless being inside a small enclosed volume, even if it were blowing in the right direction. If it has a fan, I’ll be getting my $ back on all four of the ones I have, 2 V1 and 2 V2. Wow. Who knew? Thanks for confirmingThere is a small fan inside, but i've never heard it running, and it is basically worthless being inside a small enclosed volume.
Can you identify in one of your pictures where fan is at? Unless what @1201 identified is a fanThere is a small fan inside
1201 has correctly identified it.Can you identify in one of your pictures where fan is at? Unless what @1201 identified is a fan
With it buried inside, I’m not sure it would be possible for it to hear it.I ve never heard that fan come on.
Probably so. If I still had it apart, I would test it to see how loud it is.With it buried inside, I’m not sure it would be possible for it to hear it.
Any chance you have a picture good enough to see a nameplate or label with a number on it or something?Probably so. If I still had it apart, I would test it to see how loud it is.
Maybe this will help. Top right. I'm not home so can't zoom in enough on my phone.View attachment 218121
I’m not sure you could hear 52db through the cover and with the other stuff close that would tend to attenuate the sound, like he said, too bad he already put it back together…….Looks to be a NMB 06025SA-12R-AU fan. 12V DC fan, looks to pull on average .67A, at a max airflow of 45.6CFM, at 52db

Regardless of whether it comes on and can be heard, I find it hard to believe that it does anything but recirculate hot air. Don't forget, the heat sink is on the other side of the main board. If anything it might initially help cool the SPS, but eventually everything will reach equilibrium and the net cooling effect will be nil.I agree, something like that buried inside of the unit, you're unlikely to hear.
@MajicDiver Which two prongs are those? Do you have a V3 or V2? I would love to install a switch and connect it.if I short the two prongs on the com board the button would be connected to the batteries wake up and system starts.

All of mine are v2,Pic attached
I know nothing about connectors, but that’s it. When you get something connected to it, post what you did please!Thank you. This little two-pin connector labeled CN6 circled in red, right? Looks like a XHB 2.54mm connector?
