I live in México. Because of this, I have an extremely limited selection of products available when it comes to solar. When I built my system a year ago, I used EPCOM POWERLINE RLB-100-48 48V 100A Lifepo4 server rack batteries for my backup. I have 2 banks of 4 batteries (using busbars for each bank) that I send directly to my Sol-Ark 15k Battery inputs...1 bank to each input.
After going through Hurricane Beryl, I wanted to purchase 2-4 more batteries to be sure we have enough backup for the next hurricane.
However, the original batteries I bought have been discontinued and replaced with newer models. The new models supposedly have built-in BMS (like my original ones), but lack the LCD screen. I think the battery architecture/chemistry might be slightly different as well.
My question is...can these new/different batteries be added to the 2 banks without problem? There are more battery brands available now, and I could even go away from EPCOM if that would also be suitable. This was my first introduction into the world of solar, so I am still learning. The vendor of the new EPCOM batteries claims that they are incompatible with the older ones. I find that hard to believe, so I thought I would seek out the expertise of those on this forum.
I will include spec sheets and a couple of pix.
Thanks in advance for your help.
