I'm interested in configuring this up for battery-less operation temporarily. Due to a shipping mix-up the batteries didn't get delivered before I left to the cabin, and I won't be back for 2 weeks.

Per this video from EG4:

It sounds like this is possible. I have 6kw of solar panels installed in full sun on a ridge, and I'm just looking to run a 1900W load (AC with soft start). If I have to restart the invertor a few times, it wouldn't be the end of the world, but I can't find any information on doing this in the manual, as I read it.

Suggestions?

This can only be accomplished in SUB mode. Which is not recommended, unless you have an export agreement with your utility company.
Because, in SUB mode, it will export small amounts from time to time.
And the new utility meters can now pick these small amounts up.

This location is off grid. I am aware that if the solar output would drop below the draw it would trip, but apart from that, is it still possible?

Basically, can I set this up to produce AC when the panels are illuminated, even if it turns off after?

I have this same inverter on a hand truck solar generator setup like Will Prose made I can hook it up to one of my portable solar arrays tomorrow and find you a solution to your problem I will check your post before I do it to make sure you haven't already solved it

This inverter works like a UPS it only has a transfer switch and it cannot backfeed power into the grid not even a little bit not a hybrid

It can pass through AC current, it can charge batteries from ac, it can invert DC to AC current to power loads, with assistance of solar or from solar alone
