I have sched 40 conduit with wires between the solar shed and the subpanel that feeds my house.
Installed in February.
About 6 months after install, I noticed some purplish browning on the conduit, along the top. I scraped at it, exposing gray plastic beneath. I also ran an endoscopy into the conduit, and didn't see any damage to the wires within. No melting, burning, browning.

I did some reading, and started thinking it was UV damage. I took some pictures, then painted the burned secti9n 9f c9nduit white.

I've attached some pictures, what do you think about the discoloration?1000004176.jpg1000004177.jpg1000004178.jpg

Looks more like a chemical reaction or like something had gotten on the pipe I would not be concerned with it definitely not heat related I have used heat to shape these kinds of pipes before and it only discolors went overheated or hit with a flame it will bend and sag before then

No chems, but its on the sun facing wall of my house. Weird that it's only burnt there, and surrounding conduit is OK. Maybe that's what gets the most heat...

Actually looks similar to high iron in well water but I don't see any on surrounding surfaces.

By chemical I just mean it looks like something had gotten on the surface and reacted with it fertilizers spray pesticides shedding of paint oxides or any number of things that I would not be concerned about. Sun usually has a bleaching effect in my experience.
No worries

Paint it with the wall painted bothers you

Sunburn. It is common when grey PVC is exposed to the sun over the years. My drop from the power company comes out of the ground and through the wall. I painted the outside about 10 years ago on mine.
