Hey everyone, what type of glue or sealent are you using to hold the batteries to the battery box? I will be taping the batteries together but need to glue them physically to the box also.

I would not recommend it. If you have the service the batteries in the future its going to be impossible to remove them.

Packing the sides with some closed cell foam is a good option.

3M VHB tape, I use it for everything including my weird al yanko hair piece.

My favorite has always been 3m dual lock. It has the VHB tape on one side and industrial strength/double hard side velcro on the other. So things stick just as well, but you can get them apart and put them back together as necessary. A small tab holds many pounds of force, so use sparingly at first, until you understand how much you need, to be able to peal the velcro back apart again

Thanks for the reply’s the reason I wanted them glued is because the are going in a boat and don’t want them moving around. Will the vhb tape be secure enough to hold the batteries down in the box?

If you cover the bottom of the batt with the VHB, you could turn the batt box upside down and shake it. The batts would not come out. Keep that in mind, should you ever actually need to remove them. I would use less VHB than covering the whole bottom
