Does anyone have any experience with the Victron Energy GX LTE monitoring tool? If so, can you share your experience? Looks like you can connect to Wi-Fi so you don't need a SIM?

The GX LTE is not a monitoring tool. It is an add-on specifically meant to allow other GX monitoring devices to use a cellular connection to access the Internet. If you just want to access via WiFi then that requires a different setup. What specific GX components do you have? What Internet access do you have?
 
Oh I see, I do not have anything yet. However, I was thinking I could connect this GX LTE to the Victron Energy SmartSolar MPPT 75/15 Solar Charge Controller 12/24VDC and monitor battery and solar usage. I can use a cellular card in it. However, I saw in the instructions it can connect to Wi-Fi.

Edit - This will be for a remote install of a security camera.
