Solar panels - What am I missing?

I see multiple arrays built using many 100W panels, Why? It seems that if 200-300W panels were used then the arrays could be far smaller. I must be not understanding or missing something … please help

Could they be old arrays? Could they be from stock leftovers? Could they be arrays that started small and got later expanded?

Some are putting them on RV roofs and working with stuff in the way, so they have to build around vents, AC units, etc. Someone just a few days ago commented that the large panels hold water when mounted flat because they sag from the weight of the glass.

Shipping might be an issue as well. Large panels need to be truck freight, which might be a problem for some.

It just depends on the user. I have 500W panels for instance.
