BMS not responding to inverter

I have growatt spl300tl connected to darfon growatt gbl5000 lithium battery. the green light comes on when battery is switched on.no voltage at inverter.can only assume inverter is not connected to battery via BMS cable.battery voltage is 55v tested before BMS.any as vise please

If you have a meter check the voltage at the bms system side and the battery positive terminal.
If you see the expected voltage check the voltage at the growatt system side dc terminals.
Then report back.

I have voltage going into BMS but no voltage out of BMS when battery is switched on.I assume it is controlled by BMS communication cable to inverter.

Why do you assume that?
There should be voltage when the bms communication cable is disconnected.
Can you turn off the growatt and test.
Disconnect the communication cable and test again.

Battery disconected from inverter. 55 v into BMS still no power on output side of BMS any ideas

What type of BMS do you have? Daly BMS sometimes require activation.

The BMS is a darfon growatt battery with there inverter built in.if you press the on button the green status light comes on.there is 55v into bms but no output to battery output terminals.

I now have battery charger growatt sph2000 designed to be comparable with darfon growatt battery .now I have communication error 256 showing up on charger .any advice welcome

In reply to the first post the Growatt battery will not supply any power unless their is communication from the inverter. This is done by the BMS.
