[mod edit: this post is a continuation of this post here]

I know the wires to the controller and inverter are too small, I know it’s better to have bus bars. I have that stuff ordered and fuses.
But are the terminals I am coming off the bats to the inverter and controller the proper terminals to use?
Thank you so much and happy holidays!

Looks like your pictures didn't upload or you forgot to include them.

I try again

The guy at the solar place is telling me that the inverter should not be hooked to the same battery terminals as the charge controller but caddy corner to each other. Does he mean caddy corner on the parallel wiring part. Because caddy corner on the total bank leaves one direction with no current.

I use BusBars. Battery to BusBar. BusBar to inverter. BusBar to CC.
Here are the ways to connect batteries. http://www.smartgauge.co.uk/batt_con.html

Nice link Zil. I read the whole thing and I think the last sentence answers Russell's question doesn't it?
"The chargers should always be connected to the same points as the loads."

Am I mistaken or have you already asked this question recently? I read this exact same question very recently.

Also, who is this 'solar place' I think you are either misunderstanding the advice they are giving you or they are giving bad (and weird) advice (or the always possible third option that I am misunderstanding something).

Yes I did ask this, but never a really straight answer. The guy at the solar place is confusing the shit out of me. I told him the cc and inverter were hooked to the same spots and he said “no” “ the some batteries won’t be fully utilized like that. I don’t think he giving bad advice per say but he does not explain it to me very well. He’s a bit of a grumpy old man.

To be frank you should disconnect everything until you get the stuff you ordered. Your current setup is dangerous. The lack of fuses and the undersized wires can easily result in a fire if you connect a larger load to the inverter. Once you have the bus bars your question about how you currently have the charge controller and inverter wired up will become moot since neither will be connected to any of the batteries. I wish you well.

Edit: For the sake of others, this response and a few others above are based on the OP's previous thread:

I understand completely about the bus bars . I am off grid at 9000ft the inverter only runs the the fan for the furnace( very small load).
Unhooking is not a option.

Hey Russell, hope that wind we had didn't cause you too much trouble. Here at 7000 ft., it was no issue at all in Bijou Basin (Elbert County. CO). Other folks that don't live in giant hole like we do had some damage. Hope all is well with you folks.

If you go back there before you get it all sorted, see if you can get him to draw you a quick back of the napkin diagram to explain what he means. Its often a lot easier to understand what someone is saying when it's represented visually, I suspect there is something being lost in translation/misunderstood here between him --> you --> us.

Yes we are fine, had about a 100ft tree come down. We have some crazy big tree at a spring on my property. Didn’t even know it fell until I went to check my water tanks, this thing is right over my water tanks. It’s gonna take some creativity to get it down the rest of the way.
We are in teller co.
Nice to meet u!
