Trying to decide which way to go on my RV build, 24v 31kwh, dual 5k quattro's I need a large 12v supply also for stereo equipment, no not really looking at higher voltages. Where I'm hung up on is going 4p8s with a REC or Batrium BMS or 4, 8s packs with Daly 250 amp BMS's.

How much balance current per cell can the REC or Batrium options deliver?
From memory the Daly option only yields 30ma per cell, which is not much.

1-2 amps depending on the model and the Daly is 50ma. If I go fet based, Ill have active balancers on a switch for each pack if the packs get too far out of balance.

I'm going REC on my next van build (12v 16kwh) and I always recommend that route with larger systems. With large systems, I just don't understand why you wouldn't use something like REC that can talk with Victron but also have fail safes if CAN communication is down vs a dumb BMS.

Another option with Batrium would be to go with four batteries of 8s -8s4p get the Batrium core and two K9’s - then monitor each cell all 32 cells.

Good Luck with your decision!

When I was trying to make my decision between Rec and Batrium for me it came down to understanding the software. Before purchasing the Batrium software looked very easy to learn. If you add on the expansion board you will have 7 relays.

I was planning that route in a 8s2p making for easy expandability by either adding additional controllers. Or upping the voltage… still hard to narrow down…
