Hi,
I have a 6.7kW Solar PV, A Growatt SPH6000 Inverter and a Growatt 7kWh battery. I want to add another DIY battery with it's own inverter onto my system. Ideally the second inverter will be grid tied in the same way as the existing one, will charge the 16kWh LifeP04 battery during off peak and if possible surplus solar. At a later date I may wish add solar PV to the second inverter.

  1. Can any of you more experienced people than me see any major disasters with the above?
  2. Will the two inverters fight each other voltage wise when running?
  3. Can you recommend a suitable inverter for my second inverter, id like to install 6 to 10 kW inverter with the ability to charge from the grid or from solar PV

I cant simply upgrade my existing system, logistically the battery cant get near the existing inverter / battery, I'm sure about adding a DIY battery to the Growatt system. My new battery is made up of 16x 280A LifeP04 EVE cells and will probably have a DALY BMS unless anyone suggests otherwise. Just quick question on the BMS's, if it's rated at 250A is that the continuous design current or the capacity of the cells. If I have a 10kW Inverter and 280a/h 48v battery should I go for 300A BMS to exceed the battery A/H or 250 A to cover the inverter maximum load?

Sorry to ask so many questions, this is a whole new field for me, I do have a technical Electronics / Electrical background though.

Many thanks in advance.

Kind Regards - J

Some inverters support stacking. Some do not. Look in your Growatt's manual to see if it does.

Often times when inverters are stacked they share a battery bank, so all inverters and batteries are in parallel with each other. But again, check the documentation for your particular unit to be certain.

Growatt doesnt support parallel / stacked operation.
