I am looking to get a starter battery going for my diy solar system. I wanted to go with a eg4 rackmount... but with shipping cost bringing it to $1700 I was hoping to start a bit smaller. I was looking at ampere time and weize batteries, perhaps even chins. If i were going to go with a 36ah or 50ah 12 volt lifepo4 battery from these companies, do we know if anything less than the 100ah batteries can support wiring in series to 48 volt. I see Will talks about the mosfets needing to support the voltage as in his review of the weize 100ah battery.

Thank you for the help.

I see on the ampere time site it shows
"Ampere Time 12V 50Ah Lithium batteries support up to Max 4S4P connections to get more energy up to 10.24kWh."

so it appears that at least the ampere time can support that.

Buy once hurt once. I think it's a bad idea to attempt the cheap batteries, with any rack batteries these days you get what you pay for, with CHINS/amperetime, you might get pouch cells!

It's like $1000 in shipping for each battery to try and get SOKs, even the smaller ones. not really a get what you pay for story.

There's a much shortage of batteries components nowadays, so get a quality batteries that are durable and reliable. As one of the member said above that don't go for cheap batteries.
