All,

I found a Trace/Xantrex SW4024 Inverter. And would like to know if it is a pure sine wave inverter.
The specification does not indicate pure sine wave other than sine wave (SW). Built in 7/1996. It is a low frequency inverter.
SW4024 is 4000W (AC output: 120V-60Hz) and 24V DC input.
Below is the details:

Thanks!

I have the much newer (2016) CSW4024 from Schneider, but I've been told many times that the basic heart of the 4024 hasn't changed since the original Trace days. I'd be 95% certain that your 1996 one *IS* pure sine wave.

The Trace / Xantrex SW series are Pure Sine Wave. The DR Series of inverters are Modified Sine Wave inverters.

Thanks!
It’s a very good inverter and I’m looking for one for a back-up for the Trace 4024 that I have. Will you please let me know if you come across another?

Buy it if it works. 20 years ago they cost almost 4k, in todays dollars they would cost at least are 6k and very solid. I do not have a way to address your sine wave question but the models are called SW series which presumably stands for sine wave. See the manual pix below.

I have an SW2012 (I believe) sitting under the house. It had already been disconnected when I moved here (there was no working inverter replacing it). I doubt it's worth trying to find out what's wrong with it.

Anything cool I can do with the transformer etc?

I have a Trace SW4024 I believe from 1996 if your still looking for one or anyone else is. Also have some Rolls Engineering batteries that I think went with it if anyone is interested. I believe the model on the batteries S6 Li6 Hc. They were made in 2019 and used conservatively and kept in a climate controlled facility when in storage. Also have a predator 2000 gas powered generator/ inverter to get some juice when your not pulling it from the sun. I'm in Denver Colorado but have an eBay page so we can do the deal there if your out of state and wanting them shipped. Thanks to all for reading and letting me join this community y'all seem like very good folks that's why Im here to begin with. Much love from Colorado

I am interested if the Trace SW4024 is still available. Mine was hit by lightening two days ago.

Thanks Rhino. I've haven't used Ebay often. Would you be comfortable buying a used inverter for $1000 plus on the site? "No returns" would seem to mean that if it doesn't work, I'm out the grand.

Did you see this?

Thanks Oz. I looked at their website and they provide the service I need. But, since I am off-grid, I cannot be without the inverter for any time. Plus, just shipping the unit to Tennessee would probably be impractical. But I appreciate the feedback.
