Hello all,

Please assist with some information on changing inverter settings using the Shinephone app.

1 - Is there anything I need to do on the inverter before or after changing the settings via the Shinephone. i.e. System is running now. Is it OK to just update the settings and the inverter should pick up the new values? No need to shut down or reboot?

2 -I have 2 SPF 5000 ES running in parallel. And I have 2 different dataloggers on both. Do I need to change parameters on both inverters? Or will changing the settings on 1 inverter be pushed to the 2nd?

Thank you all for your time and responses.

No restart needed

Second question is interesting.
Is both set in same PLANT?

I prefer
server.growatt.com more comfortable then shinephone app

Thank you for your Response.

Yes. I have gone ahead and reset the parameters. Doing the updates for both inverters separately. The inverters are in parallel and in the same Plant. The updates were effective immediately and I verified this from the Inverters.

The Shinephone app lets you update 1 setting at a time. I however understand using the Web server.growatt.com link could cause problems. As it will default over 20 - 30 settings and update all together i.e. you will need to make sure all the default values are updated back to your preferred settings even if you only need to update 1 setting. My observation however is that the server.growatt.com retrieves the current settings from the Inverter so may be this is not correct.

I also observed server.growatt.com had a number of empty values whereas the shine phone app displayed all the values. Hence my preference for using the app.

Hope this helps.

Hi, not sure if anyone can help but I have the same growatt system, and my battery seems to want to charge itself at night from the grid, I have read that my inverter settings might need changing, is that true? If so how do I do this? Is it through the ShinePhone app or do I have to do it on the inverter itself?
thanks

Put Growatt into standby mode by turning off its rocker switch. Leave the battery on. Go to setting #11 and change to 0 Amps. Switch the Growatt back on.
Be aware that the Growatt will be consuming 50-75 watts when in service. I set # 11 to 2 amps so to compensate for this and not drain the battery to shut down. Your choice.

Or just change the charge setting lower down in the menu to OSO (only solar).
That fixes it.
