One of my LV6548 inverters mc4 connectors failed and I got 0v on PV1. Voltage on the incoming wires is fine. Anyone else had this happen? This is a REALLY bad design on an otherwise great inverter.

I just ordered a couple of these to bypass the mc4 connectors and hardwire directly to the internal circuit board.

they use crimp on flag connectors that plug onto the circuit board inside the unit. I have the sungold power sp 6548 inverters and l am looking into removing the mc4 connectors also. I like the way the new ec4 inverters just use terminal blocks but the circuit board is a little different.

What amperage were you feeding it?

I am just gathering parts i do not have a system up and running yet, I would like top fabricate a new metal plate and run conduit for the pv wires.
I am unsure the size of the wire on the circuit board?.

Awg10. Just like pv cable.

This inverter gets about 15-16 amps on each input. They are rated for 18 amps max.
The only reason I'm going to use a terminal post is to be able to remove the wires for some reason in the future.

If you're hard wiring with conduit, just remove the mp4 wire and use a flag connector on the pv wires or solder them directly to the flag. No way they can fail doing that.

Hello Jeff. What is the part called and where did you get it? I am have the same problem with my 6548. I need to get it fixed asap. Thank you for posting this. It helped me stay sane.

Thank you. I ordered the terminal block and flag connectors. I am excited to get it fixed. I hope I can do it. Doesn't look very difficult. Thanks again.
