Has anyone bought basengreen product from their UK warehouse? They currently have Lishen 280Ah for 145$

where is their warehouse in the UK? link?
i recently used Fogstar in the West Mids ...

Payment is still required in dollars to a bank in Singapore (50$ fee) or by credit card with a 70$ fee

no mention of import duty/vat for bringing them into the uk from the EU? if there are no additional charges then they are very cheaply priced, if there is 20% vat to add then Fogstar are a better price and you can go and collect yourself, so you know your money is safe and you can check your cells when you collect them ...

They are supposed to already be in the UK so no VAT or custom duty to be paid
How would I check 16 cells on collection?

you can check them physically or even check state of charge? as i said, if there is no extra to pay then they appear to be well priced! i am not telling you where you should get them from, just offering an alternative should the ones you are looking at turn out to not be the price you think they are, i have nothing to do with Fogstar other then being a customer!

just to repeat myself, if there is no vat/import duty to pay and they are grade a eve cells, then they appear to be well priced !

Are battery cells supposed to be delivered with a certain state of charge? Does that tell me anything about their quality/grade?
I was thinking of buying a battery tester and charge and discharge each of them to test the capacity (but it might take a few days)
What do you mean by grade A/B, does that just refer to capacity?

all cells come with 'some' charge and i assume that out of 1000 cells there might be one or two that are significantly lower than the others - that is purely guess work on my part though and might be a load of bollox!! i dont think cells can be shipped/transported at full charge, but again that might just be bollox from me !!!

grade a are higher quality, but grade b might only graded b because of some very slight imperfection/scratch on the outer covering etc. i am FAR from being an expert on solar batteries etc and am, just learning myself. i am currently top balancing 16 a grade eve cells at home for my battery build and its taking MORE than a few days, again because of my inexperience i am doing them slowly ...

in conversations with other people, it was 'suggested' that grade b cells were perfectly adequate and fit for purpose in a home built battery, i just didnt have the confidence or experience to follow their 'suggestions' .... perhaps next time i will ??

i also didnt have the confidence just to go ahead and order on line without having some sort of personal interaction with the supplier and as i wanted a lithium battery for my motorhome, collecting it myself from the West Mids worked out really well for me as i was able to chat with them and ask any questions i had swimming about in my head.

They seem to be another Chinese seller so you're likely to be taking the same risk as you would if buying from Alibaba. They may or may not have a UK storage facility, they certainly don't seem to provide an address for it.

Grade A and B are marketing terms and don't actually have any defined meaning. You can expect cells from sellers like these to be EV rejects, likely to be OK for low current usage, possibly with slightly low capacity.

Cells are stored partially charged; low or high charge is not recommended for long term storage.

I have bought so called grade B cells from Fogstar. They were as described and a fair price. I've also ordered some from an Alibaba reseller which are supposed to arrive within a couple of weeks. I wait with interest to see if anything turns up.

Do you expect grade b cells to degrade faster than a grade cells?
Basengreen has been suggested by an offgrid pv youtube channel with a decent base of followers in Italy; the guy says they are very good and tested individually before shipping

as far as i know, b grade cells are nothing to do with their capacity etc, i understand (but might be wrong) that they are graded b because of minor imperfections or scratches on the casing or terminals. it would have saved me around £400 if i had gone for grade b, so its a big saving.

Andy from Off-Grid garage has a credible view on A vs B grade.

Can't say I'd put much faith in a random youtube channel, without good supporting evidence.

No, I bought from Fogstar uk; 280Ah grade A cells have been 144£ each since Black Friday
Ok thanks. I‘m currently tempted by the Lishen 272Ah cells on basengreen which are at $135/each which comes out around £113 each including shipping. I don’t doubt they are the normal Chinese seller “grade A” which is actually a QC reject from the manufacturer, but I’m thinking if I purchase on credit card and they show up with obvious issues such as used, swollen or below rated capacity then I’d have some recourse via credit card chargeback, so I might have a go. $135/cell is close to 2020 prices.
