didn't know where else to put this question.

is there a device for using a standard... plug into the wall 110v battery charger... that you can put between the car charger and the car's battery.... that will cut off charger when battery is charged? ask cause I have an older but good car battery charger I would love to be able to use on something at home while I run off to work etc..... and not have to worry about overcharging the battery.

aka.... an adapter that turns a regular battery charger into a smart(er) charger. kinda stupid to junk a good charger and spend the $$$$ for a high buck smart charger. Esp. since this charger is 12v, 24v, 36v, 48v, 72v and similar is expensssssssssive. granted truly would only need the cut off for 12v and 24v. (i have both situations between a truck and a car start batteries)

Would a solar charge controller be able to do this?? (example above charger has only 10a max charge ability) I assume not... no way to tell the battery charger to cut off?

looked into smart plugs..... but could not find one that had sensor wires to run to battery that it would use to know ot cut off power to the charger. They were all just wifi programable..... or gas of fluid sensor type.

These go to practically zero charging after their charge cycle.

yeah ..... like I said..... kind of stupid to throw away a perfectly good charger and pay big bucks for a new one when all that is really needed is a controller.

Voltage sensitive relay.

Or time delay relay.

A small deltran maintainer is barely $20

Following...

I think what the OP and I want is an add-on for our dumb, high current battery chargers.

I don't see why any of the BCC
