I just got my new eg4 18kpv and am trying to setup the dongle. It asks for a customer or installer code. Anyone know where I can find that?
 
Thanks for your reply i had to call and stay on hold for 31 minutes just to give me a generic “code”… im not going to write the code here because i dont want to get banned or whatever, but if its the most basic code and its the same for everyone, why not just make it public?
 
I think the idea is is that they want to do the initial setup for you to make sure everything is right for your situation but yeah having to hang around waiting for them isn't so much fun.
The secret sauce isn't exactly original or sophisticated, it's all in a name LOL
 
Can someone please PM me a "customer code" for the 18kPV registration! (Signature Solar, EG4, anyone) I have been trying to get one for days.

looking to get a eg4 18k pv , do i need a auto transfer switch with this unit for when the grid power goes down , to run off my battery bank

You don't need one, it has a transfer switch built into the unit.
 
Can someone IM me the code? I jest received my 6000XP from SS and would like to start the logging and get it configured / upgraded.
 
If you buy through Current Connected, the code is "Current Connected". It's important to use the right code, because if you got it through us and want to take advantage of our tech support, then we can only access your installation if you use our code.

yup, on hold with them 10+ min so far. really ridicules that a Company ID code is like top secret info. Neither Victron or Growatt require this info for a customer.
OK, 20 minutes on hold but I have to say the rep knew what was coming. I sent an email about 30 min prior and when I called she had my phone number from the IVR and looked up my account and had my email pulled up. Before I could finish with my request she has the code I needed. The support was very nice and much faster response then the previous time I called about a year ago. I did recommend putting this code in with the product to avoid a 5 minute call and the customer on hold for 20 minutes.
