30kWh Envision Import & DIY

UPDATE 1...

Last week (after several incorrect delivery issues) I received the Seplos BMS and active balancer from fogstar. First, I received a JK... and then I received the BMS without the active balancer! All good in the end. It's very frustrating having this and no cells!
Same here.. I got several BMS from batteryhookup... (custom charges were ?) ... so they are sat in a box in a dry corner of the house waiting for their slaves to arrive.. meanwell 3.3v also waiting ... me waiting ..?

Guess I am lucky, nkon is a short drive away.
This is one of the primairy reasons I opted for them and the envision test cells to begin with.
If something turned out to be not right, I could simply hop in the car to make it right.
Fortunately they performed well beyond my expectations, and maybe even better than my lf304's I got from china, without the long wait

Brilliant... that’s so handy for you.. living not too far away... I’m very pleased to hear that they are beyond your expectations.. my gut instincts told me that they were going to be good cells for the diy community..?

@houseofancients perhaps you can be our local ambassador :)
In a strange turn of events I was in Amsterdam late November, and then my wife was a few hours drive away in Germany during December. I even considering making a special trip/drive over to collect them from the UK! That is how good a price they are compared to UK.

If there is anything I learned here, then there is that a group thing always turns sour a one point ( Micheal caro anyone ?).
So I will share my experience and somewhat small amount of tips and tricks, but that will be it I am afraid.

Pretty sure you won't need it, as NKON seems to really have their act together

Michael Caro.... poker player..? I can’t help but think of group efforts on the final stages to conquer Mount Everest... queues and delays... weather closing in ... daylight disappearing... opposing opinions... I’m such a pessimist... ?..

It was mostly "tongue in cheek" ;) but certainly your input will be invaluable I'm sure!

All input appreciated... I haven’t popped my lifepo cherry yet...and I have a brand new dmm coming from Santa hopefully... may I ask what dmm you use..?

I have a well used fluke

Fluke seem to be very reliable and accurate... I should get delivery from Brymen soon..def a step up from what I have now..don’t want any dodgy readings balancing the 305s...
I have one too, from the 1980s :) My thread below turned into a Fluke discussion after Will bought a £600 one... especially from page 3 :)

Had a look at some used flukes from 1980s on eBay..would still have to get calibrated just in case...the new ones are pricey ..?.. that was a popular thread ..$700 dollars ..!!!

I got my new dmm this afternoon... it’s red...

They also said this to me to start with, saying about some restrictions on batteries. I asked them to check again as I've had battery deliveries from abroad before, and then they came back with the DHL offer. Their website certainly doesn't allow you to make an order to the UK.
ah thanks, so they are 60 euro each? plus shipping about 200 euro? and you're allowing for vat on import?
