    Grounding my container?

    There’s a breaker but it’s 63amps. I should’ve probably got a 20amp breaker. This one is way to big.

    Grounding my container?

Thankyou I had no idea about grounding the panels. A friend of mine called yesterday and said he had special grounding connections for the panels to all ground to one another. I’m waiting for him to come up next weekend to complete that

    Dc mini breaker confusion

That’s actually a great test and idea. I’m going to test that next time I power down the system. Thankyou very much.

    Grounding my container?

Thankyou I’m going to check all of that out. This is my specifications sheet for the inverter Edit. My photos don’t load due to poor service in the woods

    Grounding my container?

Thankyou this is exactly what I needed to know. I always try my best to be careful. I have two separate ac breaker panels that aren’t connected so no backfeeding can occur so no need for the transfer switch. How exactly do I ground the solar panels?

    Solar sadness

Ian is a great guy who will help you with a smile. I definitely recommend him. Just do your research first. No one will do it for you :)

    Dc mini breaker confusion

After several days of the system being off. I can verify the breaker is working properly. I have 150ish volts coming into the breaker. 0v leaving the other end of the breaker. This is what I was trying to accomplish the whole time. I want to be able to stop power going into my unit at any...

Remotely Monitoring BASIC 12v Solar System, Why is there not an easy solution for this???

My apologies. Solar assistant like the other said is probably your best bet if it works for your set up …Not sure if it works with just an mppt controller. What brand mppt controller are you considering? I saw it said TBD above

Poor guy lost his cabin to a fire in MPP charge controller

Lol my family never had cable from the time I was born to when I departed. When I departed I got it and realized Netflix was a thing around the same thing. I didn’t spend much time in front of a screen. I swear I didn’t live in a trailer mansion like that either even though it sounds like...

    Dc mini breaker confusion

My system has been off for three days while I was away working. These capacitors should be fully drained of power after 72 hours? Is that correct? I’m going to take a reading now and see what I get.

    Dc mini breaker confusion

Wow that’s really good to know and to be aware of. I’m going to go up to my Panels now and take a picture of the specifications sheet. Hopefully I can use these mc4 kits as I hoped lol it was a whole 30ish dollars spent.

Poor guy lost his cabin to a fire in MPP charge controller

The 2x4 fire blocking needs to be installed every 4’ of every wall bay. It’s not the most fun part about building homes but one of the most crucial in my opinion. If you put sheet rock up in a new garage you need to spackle and tape the joints and fill any holes with fire caulk by code. The...

    Grounding my container?

I’ve been pretty confused about two things with my system. I have a 45’ shipping container. I’m trying to keep it safe. It’s powered by a growatt 6k AIO and an EG4 life power battery with 6 -235 watt panels in series. My output from the growatt is 240v which supplies my AC electrical panel...

    Dc mini breaker confusion

Funny you say this. I didn’t think to test the breaker in the “on”position and the “off” position at first. After you said this I decided to test it. it still allows 50ish volts to go through it? Why is this? It’s a breaker I got off Amazon.

    2 gauge thhn

Here’s the new negative battery wire with everything working and powered on. I installed two breaker panels. One is powered by solar/battery The other is powered by my generator only. This isn’t my end goal for my system but it’s getting better Edit- photos wouldn’t load
  25. Mannfamilywoodworks

    2 gauge thhn

The hole to the new wire is about 1/16th larger in diameter than the old wire

    2 gauge thhn

    2 gauge thhn

S.s. Recommended the 2 gauge actually and that’s what I purchased from them. I made a mistake when designing everything though so now I’m a little short and I’m gonna wait until I fix this to power on again. I do not yet lol My loads are minimal. I have 400watts total with everything running...

    2 gauge thhn

2 gauge is what came with the battery so I was assuming it’d be fine. I thought 1 gauge would be better. Less resistance right?

    2 gauge thhn

    Thankyou. Makes sense.
  31. Mannfamilywoodworks

    2 gauge thhn

My positive cable is long enough. My negative cable could be 10” longer Thankyou. I’m gonna search for the welding wire most likely.
  32. Mannfamilywoodworks

    2 gauge thhn

Can I use 2 gauge thhn for a negative battery cable? Or is this too rigid? It’s from from growatt 6k inverter to eg4 lifepower4 battery it’s a 50 inch length I need Looking at the big box stores
  33. Mannfamilywoodworks

    Another beginners question

It will probably work and power on but recommendation is 200amp hour minimum in the manual. The growatt will eat that 48ah battery up with its idle consumption in a day alone
