My solar panels are not fully charging, Low power on Epever Tracer4215BN 430 W solar / 280Ah LifePO4

Settings seem ok but I have my differential set at 0.02v. If your were charging when you posted that photo then why is the BMS allowing the battery to be charged if you have a differential of 0.074. You have indicated the balancing to commence at 3.4v but what are your cell settings to turn...

Looks like you have another bad product. I can only suggest you send it back and get a refund as the reviews for that inverter are horrid.

My solar panels are not fully charging, Low power on Epever Tracer4215BN 430 W solar / 280Ah LifePO4

Yes the cell difference is excessive Yes that is excessive. It states that the cells are balancing so at what level of imbalance do you have your BMS configured to start balancing.

Hi KC7NOA and Sugerwood, I just picked up on this thread and not sure how i missed it earlier on in the year as I tend to read most of them if they interest me. I’m from NSW. I had a few problems with my Epever, not sure the model, but at first I found the app was horrid but I think it was an...

Will my panel be to much for my battery ?

Just buy a mini controller as long as your battery isn’t Lithium. It is exactly what I have for my boat. Just leave and forget. Mini solar controller Just don't buy from Australia lol.

Would some one kindly advice, I am just exsperimenting at the moment. : )

Hi Chadd, I just had a look at his web site and it sends out big warnings to me. I wont go into detail just yet but what is a guy doing selling batteries in a car boot sale 18 miles from his so called warehouse. He claims to have been off grid for 20 years and bringing the price down on...

Would some one kindly advice, I am just exsperimenting at the moment. : )

Even though it has been hot there you won’t need it….It hasn’t been that hot . You just plug the sensor in as your controller will be close to the battery and all you are doing is measuring the air temperature. You will not need the cable type which is for a remote sensor and is an...

Would some one kindly advice, I am just exsperimenting at the moment. : )

Hi Chad yes you are correct a flooded battery includes a lead acid car battery. You can buy a Bluetooth module to connect to your phone for the one on the link I provided if you want to play around but be aware that it disconnects when out of range. Unless you have the controller hidden away...

    Adding 100w suitcase with SAE

Anderson connectors are more durable than MC4 connectors and they are quiet easy to install on a cable once you get to know how. I solder mine.

    Adding 100w suitcase with SAE

Yes, no problem in attaching two controllers to the same battery. Just remember to connect the controller first and then panels second as most require connection in that order to determine battery voltage.

    DIY solar battery storage

Hi Wattmatters, yeah i been reading lots of your posts and you have built a beautiful system :). Have you looked at connecting into the grid or aren’t you allowed? I purchased cells from China for my caravan so have 560Ah@12v, but have an itch to buy some more . That of course means...

    DIY solar battery storage

Hi I’m in Australia too, well in Mykonos at the moment . To be honest unless you are building your own batteries the cost is not worth the time it takes to recoup your investment. You should of installed the largest system possible and then switched do doing things like pool pump...

Hi again Chadd. That reply from the Amazon seller is so wrong. I have found a EPEver seller and no EBay is not always there cheapest option. 30A Epever Triron The seller has a physical address and phone number and if you read the description you will find it is meets all the parameters...

Experimenting but what do you want to achieve? If you have spare money to buy things and to put them in a big bucket later to never be used again then go ahead and buy the 10A controller. If however you wish to look at running some appliances for your caravan then that is another matter. So...

Hope that you read the responses regarding the load terminals. When you ran the pump directly from the battery what did your solar controller show?

Yeah my bad I didnt look at the panels current. I’m sitting at an airport when I should be fast asleep in bed.

    Charge controller

No you are not able to plug shore power directly into your inverter. I’m not sure what that cable is that you have posted is it to connect from a shore power source to a trailer. In Australia we generally use 10A for domestic services with a dedicated circuit say to a cook top with a 15A...

    Charge controller

When stating 6 AWG they are looking at the controller maximum specifications and not what amps the panels will be producing. 10 AWG is fine From your panels to controller. Run 6 AWG from your controller to your batteries.. Sry in Dubai at the moment on my way to sunny Mykonos.

    Charge controller

Great I see HRTKD has been helping you. I think your fridge will have a cycle of less than 50% but you can always test it out if you have a watt meter. Victron are top of the range and pricey. Although I have some Victron things I have an EPEver solar controller and Giandel inverter. Choose...

    Charge controller

Ok lets start off with the make and model of your existing fridge because on gas they don't generally have a seperate fan when run on propane. I’m in Australia and yes sometimes we install fans to provide ventilation to reduce the heat but they are not critical to the fridge. Ok the mini...

    Charge controller

Plenty of people here to help you but what your will need to work out is your power consumption or as some would say you need to do a power audit. List the appliances that you will be using, the wattage and the length of time you will be using them. That way we can work out your total power...

    Charge controller

Ok what you first need to look at is your power consumption as you want to run your fridge all week. Is it a 3 way fridge? What is the power consumption on 12v? i think it will be way more than your battery is capable of providing. it would be more economical to run it on gas.

Yes ther are plenty of incentives to install solar here. I’m on a one year contract so I am able to change utility companies if I want to after that. Some of the companies offer plans to install solar for you but then you are tied to them for about 7 years.

It is grid tied but yes I have an option for a battery bank but to be honest it isn’t worth it. I use very little from the grid and the largest cost on my bill is the daily connection charge of AU$1.04 per day. The buyback rate is only AU 7.6 cents but it is enough to keep my bill down...

Sry but I’m not that rude ;) , more than happy to share the details which I had already posted. It cost me AU$7,490 for a 9.9kW grid tied system or US$5,095. That was for REC panels and and 8.2kW Fronius inverter.

Ok Cell 1 is a little low but hopefully things will balance out when you connect up. Just see how it goes now and if you still have issues then I would do a factory reset.
