24x24 hobby shop should I pull power or go solar

I love how some know everybodys business. Like what things cost at other peoples locations, houses, layouts, distance, permitting entities, and utility co requirements. It’s amazing. ? And then he can be a slave to the utility company vs freedom from them.

    Aptos 400W Bifacial Solar Panels

I would not want to have to wrestle large panels like that. And it could be 2 or 3 times a year some years the way severe weather events are increasing in occurance?

24x24 hobby shop should I pull power or go solar

Op mentioned running a welder on occassion. No mention of what said welder consumes but welders don’t typically sip energy. Consider if your wife is cooking tonight’s dinner in the oven, while the dryer is running, and then turns on the microwave, while your daughter starts up blow dryer, and...

    Aptos 400W Bifacial Solar Panels

Are there any dimension constraints for your pergola installation? If so that may greatly reduce your choices. And if mounting on your pergola, are they going to be laying flat? If yes, then I have doubts on how probable it would be to find valid opinions since most installs would not be flat...

Sasquatch Portable Power Unit - Canadian Solar

Yeah well others please raise your hand if you’ve heard of that one. Not me. It appears many of these type units get rebranded. I’m not that concerned about who was first unless that company has a bad or great rep. I’m more interested in who actually makes it, and do any rebrands have...

    EG4 14.3kWh PowerPro WallMount AllWeather Lithium Battery | 48V 280Ah

Good point. I am curious about the 3 limit vs 16. Not that I’d ever need more than 3.

    EG4 14.3kWh PowerPro WallMount AllWeather Lithium Battery | 48V 280Ah

Yeah, I figured there was but I was not sure of the number on that. At the school I went to 7% of 4000 is 280. So 4280 plus shipping yeah maybe that’s not worth it for Canada.

Sasquatch Portable Power Unit - Canadian Solar

I have not seen these units before. 3000 and 5000 watt units. 7000w surge capacity on the 3000 unit hmm ? Looking at the solar input… comments on that welcome https://cdnsolar.ca/pages/portable-power-stations

    EG4 14.3kWh PowerPro WallMount AllWeather Lithium Battery | 48V 280Ah

So… $7k Canadian is $5186 US (today). The Signature Solar battery is $4000 US +shipping. Not sure how that works out. But if you need to put more than three together, awesome, go for it. ????

I really like the new powerpro battery..

You say that as if diy solar type are the majority. ? I don’t think so… And that’s probably a good thing if you just look around next time you're out in public, or on a highway.

I really like the new powerpro battery..

I’m not an electrician or fabricator either. But I know it cost money to develop things, test, get certs, and bring a product market. But it looks like you’re all set with your system, so all good. ????

I really like the new powerpro battery..

It’s less than the equivalent kwh of server rack.

I really like the new powerpro battery..

I really don’t understand what the fixation is for some on the weight of the unit minus the cells. It’s designed to be all weather and to hold the weight and items within it safely. Outside if need be, and it has internal heaters. So do all that, have some UL cert, make it look nice, and see...

Opinions on Eco-Worthy and Vestwoods 250+ah LifeP04 batteries?

Ok. Yeah 85F ambient is easy, an 8k btu system can handle that in a sprinter, unless it’s black or other dark color and sitting in the sun. 85 with high humidity would likely be a different story. 100F would be a total struggle, 110F no way, that unit would run near continuous and not be able...

Opinions on Eco-Worthy and Vestwoods 250+ah LifeP04 batteries?

That tells me nothing about condition in which your ac can run for 10hrs. Just trying to learn what is working for some, and why it doesn’t work for others. Again, I’m curious in what temperature and humidity conditions can you run your Sprinter AC for 10 hours, what the delta T is, and which...

Opinions on Eco-Worthy and Vestwoods 250+ah LifeP04 batteries?

It’s been a while, but if I recall correctly 66 pounds was the weight of my 250 AH Westwoods battery. That seems comparable to others in that range. Though there seems to be some wide variance which I attribute at least some to be because of box choice and filler block or foam spacer choice...

    First Post... Heating/Cooling 8'x8'x8' R-20 structure using: DC Aircon DV1910E-AC/H Capacity: 450W (1,535Btu)?

Seems like a solar hybrid mini split like from Signature Solar would be a better deal. The 9KBTU unit might be ok for an R20 or R30 512cu ft box. But there is simply not enough info given on the structure. R20 where? Just the cieling, or walls too? What ambient conditions, sun exposure, any...

I really like the new powerpro battery..

With respect as well, I’m going to go out on a limb and guess more people have available vertical space than floor space. I know I have, in every place I’ve ever lived or worked. I know you know this - but that’s the difference between a structures cubic feet, and square feet.

    EG4 14.3kWh PowerPro WallMount AllWeather Lithium Battery | 48V 280Ah

I put (Well, maybe not “All”) in the op because there will always be use cases of extreme cold or heat that make calling something “all” weather somewhat inaccurate, or conditional. At least if you want to use them. Internal heaters are great but since they consume energy maybe the power is not...

    EG4 14.3kWh PowerPro WallMount AllWeather Lithium Battery | 48V 280Ah

Ok so not so different than the subject battery except these being built more water resistant, are more space efficient, can take more watts, and appear to be easier to hook up. Is discharge same on the Trophies? Server rack batteries are certainly easier to move around if needed.

    EG4 14.3kWh PowerPro WallMount AllWeather Lithium Battery | 48V 280Ah

    Cargo trailer ventilation?

Is the trailer white? If not, PAINT IT WHITE. THAT will do more than anything, and really help any insulation and mechanical systems out. In the end nature will rule unless you mechanically condition the inside. Shade outside walls and insulation is pretty much all you can do. Putting an...

BLUETTI AC200MAX Shutting down after a few hrs

Yeah I’m not sure why they would boast about that as a small draw could be running a fan as in my case, or an important piece of equipment. If someone wasn’t aware of eco mode it could have disastrous or even deadly consequences.

    Bluetti AC200 Max expansion batteries

I’d like to see some updates on this subject as well. Thing is the bluetti system is 58.8V. But it can take a slow 100-120w charge from a 12v battery into the small input port at lower right of the unit, using the charger with the XT plug to alligator clips to the battery.
