    Sudden drop to 0% in SOC with EG4 6500Ex + EG4 LLv2

With your usage patter,If these batteries were not turned off routinely, that would explain everything. The Battery management system consumes power and I doubt its included in the SOC value displayed.

    Sudden drop to 0% in SOC with EG4 6500Ex + EG4 LLv2

This may be your clue. This could be caused by SOC drift or perhaps they were never balanced to start with tho from the max voltage at time of event, this doesnt seem the case. Good job with all the pics! Someone here will look at them for 1 minute and have an answer for you.

    Renogy Scum!!!!!

They must have sold you the one I sent them back! lol Edit: never mind Mine only clocked in at 22.64 amps. I found my email chain. haha

    Renogy Scum!!!!!

Cause I had a hell of a time getting a warranty replacement on one that had the exact same problem! Customer support was terrible

    Correct size Wires for Batteries

Not sure that makes sense. The context is wrong. That statement came from someone who wanted to be able to max draw their batteries. You and I are not looking for that. We have a different situation. I dont fuse the total output of the batteries... I fuse the wire that I selected to use for...

    Correct size Wires for Batteries

That is right where my tiny house sits :) 70 amps. I have a 100 amp fuse after my buss bar.

    Weird issue with 6000XP 🤷‍♂️

Dont move the charge voltage until there is some BIG TIME balancing done. I would wait till 0.020 delta and change to 0.010 when you get to 3.5

    Weird issue with 6000XP 🤷‍♂️

Ok looks like you can sit at 55v keep it there for as long as you can stand. Current doesnt "need" to be flowing. The only thing that matters is that the balancing is working. Does it balance without charging? Or does it stop as soon as its in float? Can you set the float to 55? Try 54.9 I...

    Weird issue with 6000XP 🤷‍♂️

I just cant believe you have a .194 delta at 3.43 average. I am sorry for you. Have you tried what EG4_Jared said and bypass the communication board? he said "try and remove the ComHub from the system"
  12. PotusGobbleBottom

    Weird issue with 6000XP 🤷‍♂️

No you will not. The only way for them to get severely out of balance that I know of is self discharge over a long time (months/years) without being balanced. Or if the cell has a problem. How do you think doing it one by one will help you? I believe the limitation here is the balance current...

    That all sounds pretty awesome!

    Weird issue with 6000XP 🤷‍♂️

This doesnt look good. not terrible, but wtf did they send you. The only thing that would make sense here is all 4 packs have been used 3 years and rarely got to balance voltage. This is not the case right? EG4_Jared look at those deltas.

    House burned down

I read about this but it was in reference to balancing. They specifically said fused balance wires. Could that be the case? Why would they parallel them with wires that act as fuses. I mean, wouldnt the equivalent be us wiring 200 Ah batteries with 16 awg?

    Got it. That could happen.

    House burned down

With all the nasty, dog meat, used laptop batteries I have reclaimed, There was never a battery that I had ever seen that self discharged in less than 4 days. That was the worst I saw. Warm to the touch the entire time. I just cant see this random lifepo4 getting a short bad enough from...

    House burned down

I think this absolutely applies to Lithium cobalt. In a direct short event. I have seen other pictures of Lifepo4 diy batteries go off and the adjacent cells were still very much unburden. The cell just roasted for a couple hours.
  19. PotusGobbleBottom

    House burned down

True, but I would think that would be a very small probability without an outside event. I have been using lithium batteries for a long time, reclaimed good cells in dead laptop packs, wired 14s12P lithium ion packs, I had 3 of these packs at the same time for a while. That makes 504 little...

new user here with a temperature question

I have the same graph in SA I do not have a battery temp sensor connected to SA. NONE I do not have smart batteries. I am wondering where this info is coming from for you and for me !?! Mine is less ghastly tho. But I guess its worth mentioning that ambient temps of install location were...

    House burned down

No they are the *cough* Renogy batteries that Will destroyed on video. I have 8 48v 50ah batteries cross wired, in groups of 2 . This gives my 4 wires to each bus bar instead of 8 Should I just get 4 Class T fuses? Why would that be better? I still would have 4 groups of 2 that could feed...

    House burned down

What should I do with my 8 50Ah not DIY batteries that already have a BMS. Since they are only 50 Ah getting 8 Class T's set up would starve my children for a month.

    Weird issue with 6000XP 🤷‍♂️

looks good at 10 amps. Give it some time. Did you mean over voltage protection?? If it says over current protection that would be a different issue.
