So my charger shows the batteries are full but the cells don't seem balanced all that well. It looks like they were pretty balanced right after getting to the voltage where the internal BMS kicks in the balancing but about 10 hours later they are pretty far off. Does this look normal? >show...

I left my 2 batteries connected in parallel with the BMS active for a few days before hooking up a charger. The biggest gap in cells between the two is 5mv. Most cells in the bank are 1-2mv apart. Is that what I should expect? I have a 2A lithium charger on the bank now with the BMS still active.

You can use the TS BMS but remember that balancing between the modules (batteries) in series will need to be done with a separate cheap balancer, but the TS BMS will still enable all the internal BMS's to balance the cells.

The Thunderstruck BMS wasn't too expensive. It's super simple and activates the internal BMS on all the batteries in the chain, and includes outputs for high/low voltage contactors. If you have more than a few batteries you might want the more expensive solution Travis can put together.

Got my Thunderstruck BMS set up and plugged it in. I don't have the batteries connected yet aside from the BMS cables. The BMS immediately activate the internal BMS's on both batteries and started balancing. Here's what the cells looked like when I ran the command every 10-15 minutes. Now time...

Any particular contactor recommended for use with the Thunderstruck BMS? I see these 200-500 amp dc contactors on Amazon but not sure if those are the correct ones. I've used battery isolators before but that's the opposite of the intended outcome.

I may have missed it in the thread. If the BMS is powered from the batteries, and the BMS disconnects the loads via contactor, wouldn't the BMS still draw power from the batteries? Does it need to be on an independent battery that is also disconnected via contactor when it trips so it can stay...

Thanks for the quick reply! I'll double-check the shore power charge output and the tow vehicle, but that's a late model truck so I can't imagine it's a problem. One reason I thought going 24v might be a benefit in the trailer is the lack of voltage sag when various loads are switched on and...

Hi All, I have 2 of the U27-12XP batteries on the way for my travel trailer. I do not have a DC powered inverter in this trailer. A/C is only available on shore/generator power. Future upgrades include an EasySolar. I use small 12v plug-in inverters for cell charging etc. I plan to run the...
