Victron vs EG4 monitoring ecosystem ….. how painful is the change?

@SignatureSolarJames - thank you for the screenshots - can you help me with a shot of the “Main” page? Also, as @Shimmy says, is the access through webpage only? @Shimmy - thank you for the comments - the joy of the Victron ecosystem is that it seems to answer/anticipate every general...

Victron vs EG4 monitoring ecosystem ….. how painful is the change?

I adore the Victron monitoring ecosystem. Data is easily and clearly available, can be viewed via an app, via a webpage, via a console … there is even a widget for tablets. Dead simple, super robust. Great and easy access to historical data. My home system is currently based around a GroWatt...

    Bifacial power claims

I actually found white landscape fabric. Bit more expensive, but it seemed like the right thing to do, and was less visually offensive than expected

here to get the pretty wire-management raceways

Thank you All, although you are right that the immediate prices made my eyes water. I hate to ask, but is there any specific material required?

here to get the pretty wire-management raceways

Dear All, I am sure this is not an original question, but embarrassingly I cannot seem to find the answer elsewhere… There are some beautiful builds shown on this forum, and there is always much discussion of what equipment is installed, but rarely any comment on the wire management hardware...

    Bifacial power claims

Silly question - apologies if it is a repeat. For Bifacial panels where the spec sheets claim “up to 30% more efficiency” due to the Bifacial-ity. Would this be built into the advertised power rating, or would it all be potential upside? Thank you!!!

What is a shunt used for...? When does one use it

The advantage with the Victron is that it is accessible via blue tooth from any device, and as part of a larger Victron system (or a Raspberry Pi) the info will upload into the most-excellent Victron Remote Management Cloud, which does a really nice job of tracking and displaying the data. BUT...

Fortune 100 Ah or 280 Ah Aliexpress (Will suggested)?

I have done exactly the same thing, and the fortune cells are great. But, as you say, they are very expensive compared to the offerings on Aliexpress, linked on Will’s page. Looking at further expansion I am currently very tempted by the Eve/Lishen 280Ah cells. I do not think mixing would be a...

From Ian’s site https://watts247.com/education/ in the “wiring 2” Image he shows the common neutral concept

Generator to Growatt Inverter Neutral Bonding - Arg

Interesting! As you say, if the GroWatt/genset/garage box have a separate neutral (per your diagram) then bonding at the genset works, without conflict. however, my thought was to have a common neutral for the complete system - I.e. run a neutral from the sub-box to the garage box. like you...

Generator to Growatt Inverter Neutral Bonding - Arg

I am also very interested in this - your proposed setup is very similar to what I am planning. I am absolutely not an expert, but here are my thoughts. Would very much like to hear more expert advice: q1: the 6000t manual says 240 in, which I also assume would be done via L1 and L2 from the...
