Which Charging Profile for Lithium? (Samlex EVO-1212)

Thanks, Steve! I was hoping for a response from you, knowing that you had an EVO yourself. Yup, I have your thread about voltage calibration bookmarked, and have been making good use of these voltage differentials during the testing phase on my dining room table. OK, you run bulk at your...

Which Charging Profile for Lithium? (Samlex EVO-1212)

OK, I've got my two 12 volt, 280 Ah batteries built, each using a 120 amp Xiaoxiang BMS (JBD branded RadioB Tech). They'll be wired in parallel on my boat, supplying and charged by a Samlex EVO-1212 inverter/charger. (We will also charge from a Kisae DMT 1250 Abso DC-DC charger from the...

How to maintain 50% SOC when away from the boat?

I'm glad that you brought this up. I had been concerned about burning up the MOSFETs on the BMS and was picturing using a switch to bypass the BMS but which would leave the shunt in the circuit when using the windlass. I really can't afford a proper marine BMS with robust mechanical contacters!

How to maintain 50% SOC when away from the boat?

Yeah, so this is what would make sense for lead acid, where voltage can be used to show SOC, but how does this work with the wide, almost flat voltage curve "between the knees?"

How to maintain 50% SOC when away from the boat?

I am preparing to assemble a lithium house battery bank on my boat and have questions about how to maintain the bank at the correct state of charge to optimize battery life. We will have a 12v, 560 ah bank using 280 ah cells in a 4s2p configuration. 600 watts of solar cells and a large frame 80...
