    Bad Battery?

Like your idea about float. The Outfit I bought the system said to use 58.4v. I questioned them on that, and three different support techs said to use the 58v value. I have always questioned that, and never had a good response from them. I believe your assessment about float, and will lower it...

    Bad Battery?

No battery config in SA, points to MPP for data. Good point above about charging the isolated battery to reset the cells. Might have been the fix, and I didn't know it, as after the third isolated battery charged, the system is running like before. As far as MPP configs for batteries, Bulk at...

    Bad Battery?

Interesting question. Have to look at MPP values again, but SA uses battery info from the MPP's.

    Bad Battery?

I have found about 5 different configurations for the shunt. They all work, and have found the one that works best. But, really, don't use the Victron shunt. It is not able to view remotely, hence don't use it much. Solar Assistant is plugged into the MPP inverter. The MPP reports all the info...

    Bad Battery?

14v is strange. As soon as I can get to the failing system, I attach my charger and batteries climb faster than normal. Other times it failed to 44v and cutoff, it might take an hour or two to get up to 52v, then the 14v failure, voltages rises to 52v in about 30 minutes. So I know there is a...

    Bad Battery?

Sorry for not responding. Didn't get a notification that you commented. Yes, Batteries get up to 58v on good sun days. Cloudy days at least 53 to 55v. As far as SOC, I use Solar Assistant daily, and that is where I base my assumptions on. I go to the battery shed, and numbers there match what...

    Bad Battery?

Anyone have any thoughts on how to determine a Bad Battery? Or bad cells? Three nights in a row, about two weeks ago, my system died. Two MPP's LV6548. Three Husky Big Batteries (48v), Battery SOC was around 70%, and dropped to 10% SOC in less than an hour. My only diagnostic is Solar...

    Clueless Smart guy

I have watched many of his videos. He even had one where he used an app on his phone to communicate with the BMS on a BigBattery. Only thing I could think of was it was an earlier Husky battery that allowed BMS communication.

True, MPP communication, but, here comes the but, want a BMS to replace the BMS in the 48v Husky BigBattery

Have been using Solar Assistant for over two years. Great product. The Shunt is only viewed with Bluetooth. Does not work 100 miles away, where Solar Assistant does.

    Clueless Smart guy

I just hope to find a BMS that will replace what I have. As I look for BMS's, there are so many different devices out there, and I have no clue where to start. It would be nice and easy to find a chart that would cross to a BMS from the type of connections I have. I really rely on the...

Yes, open case to replace the BMS with one that communicates with my MPP's and SolarAssistant.

    Clueless Smart guy

I have their smart shunt, that's all. But that is only Bluetooth range for me. I want a BMS that communicated with my Inverter, and then I can remotely monitor my system from anywhere using SolarAssistant.

How to properly ground off grid solar system

I have two separate groundings. My panels are connected to a pair of 8' copper rods, 8' apart. My inverters are grounded with a separate set of 8' ground rods, 8' apart. All the information I have found is why I have two separate groundings. The mention of connecting a ground to neutral opens...

Have no idea about the health of the battery. Not to mention the temperature. The BMS that BB uses is for itself and no one else.

    Clueless Smart guy

I am the clueless guy. How do I determine which BMS will work in my battery? Someone mentioned to try a certain brand. I have 2 MPP LV6548's I can not find which specific BMS I need for my BigBattery Husky 48v. As I search, I find dozens of BMS's. Anyone know where I can find some

Any idea about their system? Sent message, but no reply. Maybe a different BMS? Thoughts?

Anyone using a generator to charge batteries on MPP LV6548?

Turned out my Generator was at fault. Didn't have a clean output. Bit the bullet, and bought an inverter generator. All is well.

Curious if there is a need for 3 BigBatteries out there

Interesting thought. I have had problems with their BMS in the bigbattery. Is it just a direct swap that you know of? Thanks for responding.

Curious if there is a need for 3 BigBatteries out there

Have 3 Husky batteries. 48v 5.3kw batteries. About a hundred pounds each. I am in Florida, and want to change out for batteries that have a BMS that I can communicate with. Two are almost three years old, one is only a year old. BigBattery swapped it out because one battery failed.

Anyone using a generator to charge batteries on MPP LV6548?

Will do next time I need to charge them. Had problematic battery from the start that caused most of my problems. Finally got it fixed, and system is working much better. Other problem I might be having is my 7500W generator is about 10 years old. Posts I have seen is that I need an 'Inverter'...

May the Blue be with you. I am NOT impressed with MPP! But, day late, and many dollars short.

Gotcha. What is AIO? Not familiar on MPP. Had MPP in standby, and no luck either.

Anyone using a generator to charge batteries on MPP LV6548?

Loads connected to AC output of the MPP's. The input is Utility 1st, Solar 2nd, Battery 3rd. I am attempting to put AC to the input of each of the two MPP's. So that way it will charge the batteries.

Anyone using a generator to charge batteries on MPP LV6548?

USB, Utility 1st, Solar 2nd, Battery 3rd. If I uderstand your question. That is how the MPP is setup to operate.

Anyone using a generator to charge batteries on MPP LV6548?

Tried both ways. With it on, and batteries are below 44vdc, the inverter shuts down. Not off. or standby. Apply AC. and MPP's just flash like resetting. From standby mode, the AC does not connect. Just flashed 120 on each leg L1 and L2, but does not hold so it will charge batteries.

Anyone using a generator to charge batteries on MPP LV6548?

Searched forum, and did not find any results. Have two LV6548's split phase. Have generator connected to input side. L1 and L2 connected, and even swapped connections from genny to L1 and L2. (Read somewhere that might help.) No luck. MPP's reset as if to sync with the AC, but never completely...

Using a generator to charge backup battery?

Is this a split phase system? L1 L2 stuff? My nightmare is the Neutral Ground connection. I tried to run backup generator here in Florida (Ian), and it failed. Make sure if split phase that the N/G connection will work with your Solar, and generator. Support is hard to find, and that Value...

Another another Auto start Generator question

Looking for a generator that will meet my requirements. Support responded with "The external device is the more appropriate term specially for generators with auto start function which can enter sleep mode and wait for wake up signal voltage." Saw a similar post, but it only had 30a I need 50a...

?, You mentioned an inverter mini split. What brand is that? Or, are you running the mini split off of an inverter?
