Need to upgrade my solar for the dog

Reminds me of Black Mirror.... those are terrifying and the Boston Dynamics robots creep me out.... I teach a public program at a museum about automatons and we always pose questions to kids about who is responsible .... the robot or the person who created it (for the good or the bad that can...

Reality Vs Advert: The Impossible Whopper

(please don't attack me) I am a vegan - and I'm happy I have the impossible whopper option when my family needs to stop for fast food on a road trip or something like that. I think it tastes much better than a Beyond burger. Not a huge fan of the fries though - much prefer the ones at Wendy's!

    What I expected…. What I got…

So I’m working to see how many panels I can fit on top of my skoolie. I made a template of one and apparently I was very disillusioned. The left is how big I expected them to be - but the right is how big it really is after measuring and cutting it out of cardboard. Thought you might get a laugh...

    Server Racks.... why?

If they can be on their side - then what benefit comes from the rack, other than organization? We looked at 3 battery racks and 6 battery racks (so we’d have space to expand) but the rack is like $500 so I’m trying to understand the benefits. If I learn that they have to be oriented a certain...

    Server Racks.... why?

I have a question about server racks.... I understand they look nice and are organized. It appears the bus bars are a feature. Probably have nice airflow around them.... but - can you just stand them upright side by side (specifically visualizing the EG4). In videos, I see that they are all with...

Trying to choose an AIO for my Skoolie

Trying to choose an AIO for my Skoolie

Do we expect it - no - is it a possibility - yes. Could we put that as something we HAVE to look for? We can do whatever we want. We are SO open to possibilities. We aren't going to rule anything out geographically except for traveling full time forever. We aren't doing that. We don't want to...

What Voltage All-In-One Do I Need For Abundant Power Needs?

Just happened upon this post - and this is really good for me to think about too as I do audiobook narration on the side and that is what I will be doing FT while in my bus. I never thought about the sound of the inverters/system with my equipment. ?‍?

Trying to choose an AIO for my Skoolie

We have no desire for a roof-top deck... just remembered that from when I got our policy on our bus. My husband worked in insulation for a long time... started as an installer and worked to production mgr, sales, and then became a GM for a new branch in Charlotte - so LUCKILY... we are very...

Trying to choose an AIO for my Skoolie

Are people just driving around with them - hoping they don't get caught? It's so misleading then. Our bus is still titled as a Commercial for Personal Use - so, since it isn't titled as an RV yet.... we do have insurance, but it's just parked on a side yard and I assumed the rules were for it as...

Trying to choose an AIO for my Skoolie

It would all depend on the land we buy. We definitely won't be hopping from place to place forever. The traveling we would do would just probably be for a really fun empty-nester type of road trip while we look for that place we want to be permanently.

Trying to choose an AIO for my Skoolie

I think it was so I didn't get too small of a system. This isn't something I have looked at.... hopefully I will be able to understand it. we will be running our oven/stove and hot water heater off of propane. We will have a wood stove. Thanks for your help @Frick

Trying to choose an AIO for my Skoolie

I noted that down from the manual so I could remember it. It seemed important. It has a 1.6 cu ft capacity. I cannot find the exact water it uses, but it has small, medium, and large with that capacity. It's considered a portable washer for RV/Dorms, etc.

Good catch! Yeah... he doesn't feel like he can put up the walls or the ceiling in the bus because we have to do the wiring.

Trying to choose an AIO for my Skoolie

Thank you for saying that - I am definitely willing and able to learn. I don't have the confidence to think I am capable - however, if you see that - then I'll put some trust there. I think my biggest stress is that my husband really puts stock into me being smart enough to do this by myself. I...

Trying to choose an AIO for my Skoolie

So I had thought that doing 2 - MPP LV6448 and running them parallel for a 13Kw output would be a great option for us on our skoolie, but when I look at what we would need to have in order to mount the 2 + the breaker/fuse box thing with the proper spacing - I don't think we have that space. I...

Our stove and hot water heater are definitely going to to be propane. I already have our dryer and am happy with it - but we will use clothes line for most drying when we can. We also do want to do a mini split eventually. We were talking and also agreed we probably wouldn't use our window AC...
