    VictronSmartSolar Bulk Blinking light

duh, "elementary, my dear Watson" kinda moment: So putting back the original wiring, just for testing, it turns out that, when no Solar Power are hooked to the Victron CC , the blue BULK light is OFF and blinks ON, every 3 or 4 seconds. IF, however, Solar Panels are hooked to the Victron...

    VictronSmartSolar Bulk Blinking light

hello folks, was wondering if anyone has come across a BLUE (BULK) blinking light (every 4 seconds) for a Victron SmartSolar 100/30, on an otherwise well functioning system. Before the BULK light started blinking (it was constant BLUE), I had "borrowd temporarily" the 12AWG cables that came with...

newPowa 200W panels not outputting amps!?

no, just using the Renogy PWM 12V 20A that came with the Renogy Mobile Suitcase and the Victron SmartSolar 100V 30A. All tests indicate both NewPowa 200W panels work fine, by themselves, with the PWM controller (albeit about 80% off of the Renogy panel), but give a fairly subpar wattage (about...

newPowa 200W panels not outputting amps!?

hi @Richard295 , thank you so much for the feedback, I think you're right, after doing more testing, in conjunction with the Renogy PWM solar charge controller that came with the Renogy 200W Mobile Panel, vs: the Victron SmartSolar CC 100V 30A. Using the Renogy PWM Solar charge controller...

newPowa 200W panels not outputting amps!?

at just about 2:00pm, sunny florida, no skies (perfect day, not hot, around 70 degrees outside). thanks bunches, @sunshine_eggo , for all the help troubleshooting. Forwarding this thread to their tech support to see what they say.

newPowa 200W panels not outputting amps!?

with a multimeter, VOC is 17.75V. Isc is 0 on a 10Amp scale, and 03.0 readout on the 200mA scale. both panels are behaving identically and there is no scratch or dent on them. still lost :)

newPowa 200W panels not outputting amps!?

the working renogy is 53 x 32.5 = 1722.5 sq in. the problematic newpowa is 64.5 x 26.5 = 1709.25 sq in this is the amazon link for the newpowa panel: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VBL7XKV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 I'm a tad lost, as a newbie as I really wanted to...

newPowa 200W panels not outputting amps!?

hello folks, newbie here, I originally purchased a Renogy 200W Mobile solar panel which is working flawlessly with my Victron SCC 100V/30A outputting 180-205W. I then bought two 200W Newpowa solar panels (non-mobile). Both of the NewPowa panels, when connected by themselves output 17+V, but no...

    energy production/consumption config

yes, that's what I was afraid, that it's basically a scale-out proposition only, a DIY kind of stuff, with more batteries and more SCCs, because panels don't power appliances, very well said -- This is the battery I'm talking about and from the manufacturer, they are saying to charge at max...

    energy production/consumption config

thank you kindly @sunshine_eggo -- the fast, informative reply is much appreciated. Sorry, did not mean anything through my greeting but I now realize. It was only meant as a form of reverence to the knowledge that this forum and folks such as yourself bring to the newbies like me. :)...

    energy production/consumption config

hello solar wizards, currently, I have a perfectly (newbie grin) designed & usable system for my current needs and consumption (main components below): -- 400W solar panels, -- a Victron Energy SmartSolar MPPT 100V 30 amp 12/24-Volt SCC (sending energy at 30 amps tops) --12V 300A CHINS LiFeO4...

    Victron SCC & battery Sensor

great, thanks for the confirmation @rmaddy. Yeah, initially I had the Victron SCC set to "rotary" so I could NOT make any changes to the #7 setting for LiFeO4. Then I created my own profile setting. It looks though that using a manual profile, then changing to LiFEO4, now let's me edit the...

    Victron SCC & battery Sensor

many thanks for the thoughts, @rmaddy. yes, I understand about the temperature, although not a huge concern here in sunny South Florida, about freezing. My initial concern is that the Victron SCC seems to stay "too long" (relative, I know) in absorption mode before going to bulk, even though I...

    Victron SCC & battery Sensor

hi folks, does anyone have any experience with hooking up a Victron Energy Smart Battery Sense Long Range (link below): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RTYGMBD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 to a Victron Energy SmartSolar MPPT 100V 30 amp 12/24-Volt Solar Charge...

erratic charging (no Victron MPPT STATE change) when battery gets to be used, to then recharge

understood and completely expected -- thank you, kindly. I'm most concerned about how to "assist" the Victon CC understand when the LiFePO4 battery needs to be entered into Absorption/Bulk states, depending on the current state of charge/voltage, irrespective of the Renogy BM. ;-) thanks...

erratic charging (no Victron MPPT STATE change) when battery gets to be used, to then recharge

thanks bunches, @sunshine_eggo -- I have calibrated the Renogy BM to 100%, after I have initially charged the battery, fully, manually, with a Victron charger (took about 15 hours, then went into float State). Yes, indeed, the solar input, is very small, 2-10Amps at best, depending on clouds...

erratic charging (no Victron MPPT STATE change) when battery gets to be used, to then recharge

hello folks, I have setup a fairly new, small system: a 300A CHINS 12.8V 300AH battery LiFePO4 a Victron SmartSolar CC MPPT 100/30 a Renogy 500A Battery Monitor, a Renogy 200 Watt 12 Volt Monocrystalline Foldable Solar Suitcase (with the PWM CC that I am not using, using the Victron one) a...

10 gauge solar panel to charge controller tinned copper ok?

Hi folks, if I m not mistaken, reading Will's recommendations for wire type, he does not advocate for tinned copper, but neither on richsolar (product type, link below) nor on renogy, I cannot find better wires than this, to use for a 400watt 12v system. Is this 10gauge wire tinned copper ok...
