House battery AND a battery bank at same time?

Update.. I added the 4th battery in parallel and left the house negative wire attached to the 12v panel.. I ran #6 POS and NEG from my bus bars with a 100amp fuse to the 12v panel.. seems to be working now.. Question.. is the ground from the trailer negative (also #6 wire) suffice as the ground?

House battery AND a battery bank at same time?

When I tested the system without the house battery hooked up, the 12v panel would not energize. I figure it was because the house battery neutral was grounded.. where as my battery bank was not grounded.

    Inverter Open Ground?

I just purchased the same Renogy Inverter/Charger. I plan to hook my portable 3500w Hyundai Inverter Generator to it as the 'Shore Power' feed. Do I ground my Generator to earth and the metal case of the Renogy unit to my Travel Trailer... or just one of them?

Inlet - Yes, the TT has one. We currently hook the Genny up to it. Surge protector - Is this required if the only feed is from the Generator and not from shore power ever?

New Solar setup for 2014 Crossroads Travel Trailer

Thanks Joey. From what I gather from your drawing.. the inlet is the feed from the genny and the surge protector is a fuse/breaker.. Is this correct? And, the existing converter can be disconnected..
