    n00b question re: over-discharge protection

I was hoping to set up the inverter to run only as needed, but that does offer an interesting solution. Thanks!

    n00b question re: over-discharge protection

Yeah, like I said, I know I can program a cut-off for my A/C loads. My question was, for my DC loads, is there any redundancy when it comes to discharge cut-off? The Multiplus has no role in that system.

    n00b question re: over-discharge protection

Hi folks. Just received my 280h EVE cells, Multiplus 24/3000/70-50, and Overkill BMS in the last couple of weeks. Starting to configure everything and run through a couple of charge cycles just to get the hang of things. No solar panels/SCC yet, waiting until I can start working on converting a...

Anyone with experience ordering from Big Battery to Canada?

Why do people get uptight? I'm planning on de-rating them in my (24V) configuration to 10%-90% or somesuch, as I understand a lot of people do. But that's up to the end-user. Do the new cells not test to spec? But you're right, either prices changed or my math was bad. That's a screamin deal...

Anyone with experience ordering from Big Battery to Canada?

Thanks Steve, good to know. I inquired over at electriccarpartscompany.com a few months back about getting some of those Fortune cells sent here. They told me UPS was the only carrier that would touch lithium batteries of that size. Also glad to hear that Amy and co are still in good standing...

Anyone with experience ordering from Big Battery to Canada?

Hi folks. I haven't paid much attention to the offerings from Big Battery in the past, until Will profiled their new LFP and NMC 24V packs. Looks awfully tempting. I'm up in Montreal, Canada. Their website states that international customers have to arrange pick-up, shipping and brokerage...

Recommend a pure sine wave inverter for 12v marine usage

Sorry to dig up this thread, but I wanted to confirm just because it hasn't been stated explicitly yet: are the Victron Multiplus inverters a low-frequency type? I want to assume that's the case since they're considered top-tier, but looking at the spec sheet, surge wattage is only double...

    Inverter sizing for well pump

Totally understand, it's your call to make. And anyhow it's more fun piecing it together.

    Inverter sizing for well pump

Hey Steve, I keep getting tantalizing hints about your living set-up every time I come across one of your posts. Have you got the projected documented anywhere? Sounds like a lot of great ideas, and it's always hard to come by good design inspiration for the eastern canadian climate. Or maybe...

24V for vehicle specific systems (cheaper/more efficient(?), but how much)

Ah well that went right over my head. Just another benchmark of something I need to understand before I proceed too far I guess :) I did have a poke around ebay at some Outback and Samlex LF inverters in the 2000W range, and indeed, for equivalent specs on paper, it looks like about a 5x...

24V for vehicle specific systems (cheaper/more efficient(?), but how much)

I see. And you can still find them on the market? I assume they have to output 60Hz AC, what exactly does the "low frequency" refer to?

24V for vehicle specific systems (cheaper/more efficient(?), but how much)

Cool, thanks for sharing your experience. The dream would be to power my Ridgid jobsite table saw. Big load, but it's the previous gen with a built-in soft start, so peak amps might not be SO bad. Have my eyes on a box truck. Something pretty specific actually - where I live, there's one type...

24V for vehicle specific systems (cheaper/more efficient(?), but how much)

I'm also at an early stage of learning the principles of solar/mobile power system design, and also wrestling with the 12V/24V question. Based in Canada. For me, these seem like the biggest pros for each one, although some of them might be based on incorrect assumptions. 12V pro - I'm very...

    Thanks, that was very helpful!

    inverter/charger: no solar, yet

Sorry to jump in, brand new on the forum. But you seem to have answered a question I've been pondering, and can maybe clarify a bit further? Currently speccing out a battery system for a camper that is still at the gleam-in-my-eye stage. Modelling 400AH of 12V lithium and 3000W AC output. For...
