Configure MultiPlus II to use AC In only for battery charging during a specific time period

I've installed and tested the smart switch and all seems well :-) Presumably, once the battery is "full", the MultiPlus will stop trying to charge it or the BMS will stop accepting any more charge?

Configure MultiPlus II to use AC In only for battery charging during a specific time period

Ah, I thought this could be done without the "hard wiring" from the Cerbo to the Multi i.e. just in the software (seeing as I wouldn't want to change it very often, if at all)......my bad :( I think the "timer switch" is the easier option for now and it should be with me tomorrow sometime, so I...

Configure MultiPlus II to use AC In only for battery charging during a specific time period

just in case I've missed something, I've attached screen shots of all the settings I changed when trying to get the Generator Start/Stop function to work from the Cerbo....maybe I've done something wrong?

Configure MultiPlus II to use AC In only for battery charging during a specific time period

I've just been trying to configure the Generator Start/Stop functionality via the Cerbo, and can get everything setup so that it looks like it should only enable the "AC In" for a few hours every day, but whenever I switch the AC breaker on it just starts charging! I think it might be due to the...

Configure MultiPlus II to use AC In only for battery charging during a specific time period

Thanks, I was thinking of something like that as an option using a timer switch normally used for immersion heaters or similar :)

Configure MultiPlus II to use AC In only for battery charging during a specific time period

Thanks Adam, It was one of your YouTube videos that I watched last night, that suggested that I could do this :) Presumably, I'll have to use the wired connection from the Cerbo to the MultiPlus, as per your video and then enable the schedule as per the screenshots? Cheers for now Russell

Configure MultiPlus II to use AC In only for battery charging during a specific time period

I have an "off grid" setup which uses a 48v MultiPLus II, Cerbo GX, a couple of MPPT Charge controllers and a 48v LiFEPO4 battery..so far so good. I'm trying to find out if I can utilise the "AC In" on the MultiPlus II to charge my battery during a specific time window each day (at night when...

    Validation of 12v Battery requirements

I should have updated this thread a while ago, as I purchased a Roamer 160ah 12v battery and it has been happily running our Washing Machine via a 3000W 12 v Inverter from FCHAO :)

Different size panels in series and parallel

Thanks, I don't want to risk causing any damage so will leave things "as is" for now and find another use for the 2 x 330W panels :)

Different size panels in series and parallel

I currently have 3 x 415W panels in series but have a couple of older 330W panels that I wanted to try and add to the existing setup. I was wondering if the configuration in the diagram below would work without causing any damage to the panels, even though the overall output would be reduced?

    Validation of 12v Battery requirements

I think we can say that my original calculations were pretty accurate, apart from missing the 85% efficiency of the inverter (y) Having said that, I could use a voltage of 12.8 as that seems to be the nominal voltage of the 12v battery that I've been looking at: 1300Wh/12.8V/.85 = 119Ah...

    Validation of 12v Battery requirements

Most UK appliances have a 13A fuse/rating but I've just noticed the line above the Current says "Electrical connection rating (W) = 1850, so maybe the 2200W I've seen includes the "surge"?

    Validation of 12v Battery requirements

Apparently, it's one of those "smart" machines that varies the run time based on the weight of the load and I'm reliably informed by the lady wife that using a 30deg wash is worse than useless in most cases, so I just go along with what she tells me :) It's just a little project for me to play...

    Validation of 12v Battery requirements

I've found a UK manufacturer/supplier of 12v batteries that have a 200A discharge rating: https://roamerbatteries.com/shop/p/12v160ah The washing machine is a Hotpoint and I found the attached specification sheet but it doesn't give any idea of the "surge" rating. Cheers for now

    Validation of 12v Battery requirements

Thanks for the response sunshine :) I assume that the maximum wattage of 2200 was the "surge" but can't be 100% sure tbh as I was just using one of those plug-in digital devices that shows the maximum and minimum wattage and total Kwh since the last reset, etc. From what you've pointed out I...

    Validation of 12v Battery requirements

I'm planning to try and power a domestic washing machine from a 12v LiFePO4 battery with a 3Kwh inverter (UK - 230v) and have done some maths but wanted to make sure I'm heading in the right direction. I've been monitoring the washing machine (running from a normal 230v outlet) over a period of...

Lack of LiFePO4 battery availability in UK

Thanks, I was thinking about building my own battery (having watched Andy from the Off-Grid garage "in sunny, hot Australia") but have decided to go with something ready built like the PylonTech :)

    2 Growatt SPF 5000 ES in parallel using 20 550W panels and 1 LifePO4 51.2V 200ah battery

I stand to be corrected, but I don't think you have any choice but to "lose" two of the PVs from each string as you've exceeded the capacity limits of the Inverters :cautious: I guess you could also go 9s to give a total VoC of 452.88 which is only just over the stated 450v of the Inverter? A...

Lack of LiFePO4 battery availability in UK

I'm trying to purchase a 48v LiFePO4 battery in the UK but all the suppliers seem to be "out of Stock" until July or later.....presumably this is a wider issue of not being able to get the components from China?

    Calculate Battery Amp Hours

    Calculate Battery Amp Hours

Victron MPPT Smart Charge Controller - Setup without Battery

I guess I could connect a 12v Lead Acid battery in the first instance and then replace it with the new LIFEPO4 when I can get one (and update the config of the controller of course)?

Victron MPPT Smart Charge Controller - Setup without Battery

Victron MPPT Smart Charge Controller - Setup without Battery

I've just installed my 150/35 Victron charge controller and connected it to the DC breaker from my PV panels, but I don't yet have a battery (having trouble sourcing a LifePO4 in the UK) and wanted to know if the controller will let me configure it from the power supplied by the PV's alone or if...

    LifePO4 Battery suppliers in UK

    LifePO4 Battery suppliers in UK

I'm looking to buy a 12v 100a LifePO4 battery in the UK but am struggling to find any "local" suppliers that have AOLithium, Chins or SOK available. Do any of you guys know of a supplier in the UK or do they all have to come from Europe, China or the US at the moment?
