    Valence XP Super Thread

I also wrote a .net core application that can talk to these batteries and put it on github.. I use it to monitor my batteries in my airstream. https://github.com/Crelex/Valance-Battery-Reader You can make a muuuuch nicer UI to monitor your batteries.. :D

    1975 Airstream Rebuild

I have since revamped it as well for my personal setup, but I am sending the data to InfluxDB / Graphana in order to show it like this.. the reason you can't poll as fast as I can at this point ( most likely, 4 times per second on all my batteries -- 10 of them ) is its including all that extra...

    1975 Airstream Rebuild

Here is the battery usage charted over time during 1 cycle of the Splendide XC2100 washer/dryer combo unit. Here is the battery usage charted over time during 1 cycle of the Incinolet Marine toilet. ( hard to see the actual image was much larger.. )

Also here is the readout for every cell group ( 40 data points over time ) 4 per battery, 10 Batteries. Kinda cool to see charted..

    1975 Airstream Rebuild

Also here is a little bit better layout with accurate wire lengths etc so you can see how its actually wired together..

    1975 Airstream Rebuild

Looks like the baby is stepping into line with the others... this was first usage in a long time.. I'm going to get them down to lowest one 11.2v and let them sit for a bit... then charge them back up... Then do the exact same test again... if I see the same issues, I'll move that 'problem cell'...

    1975 Airstream Rebuild

So I dont know much about all this shit but I learn really quickly... here is 6hours worth of data collected at about 1 data point per 2 seconds.. ( sorry thats the limit of the diagnostic protocol, I'm working on a CANbus implementation for faster polls, but this is still a lot of good data )...

    1975 Airstream Rebuild

Alright well I've been busy at work.. and I've managed to set up ( its not 100% ) i need to fabricate an actual chasis for it instead of this scrap wood I've used for now... but.. here is some of the basic work.. Here is the UI I've put together to show the information in a nice pretty thing to...

    Testing my Valence U27-12XP

sounds reasonable, but I don't want to steer you in the wrong.. I get all my victron stuff on thursday and get to start playing around with them

    Testing my Valence U27-12XP

Any relay that's rated for the amps your pushing should be legit.. you talking something you can turn on/off with like a GPIO pin or something or what?

    Testing my Valence U27-12XP

I ended up buying 2 of the 10 to 'tinker with' and I think they're going to work out just fine in my Airstream, the Victron multiplus will cut off the inverter via settings when it gets LVCO via AC side of things, and I've got an Nvidia Jetson TX2 and an INA2331 that lets me read the voltage and...

Yeah sure you want to mail me one? or give me a link or something i'll check it out..

I reverse engineered the Valence Battery Monitor Software

Are there other BMS' that allow you to connect to them and get this info?? If so the direct AL cells are the answer without a question. Even tho these Valence are cool..

I reverse engineered the Valence Battery Monitor Software

https://github.com/Crelex/Valance-Battery-Reader Probably got a few un-needed things in there still yet from the decomposition process, but.. it works for a Proof of Concept. It would be really cool if someone wanted to add in the logging module, refactor the code a tad, and maybe add a few...

I reverse engineered the Valence Battery Monitor Software

sorry taking me a little bit longer than normal for something like this, damn life and normal responsibilities -- stay tuned.. I got most of the UI shit stripped out of it, just need to find a suitable cross platform SerialDevice library and we're good to go..

I reverse engineered the Valence Battery Monitor Software

I'll turn it into a library so anyone can consume it via .net core 3.1 and post a link for ya'll to get the project..

    Battery Terminal for DIY Cases

If you work with metal, toss some bar into the lathe, cut, drill and tap a few for yourself to specification. A lip in your sheet metal top, along with some epoxy should set the new 'terminals' in place nicely. This looks SOMETHING like what you're asking for tho, yeah?

    Testing my Valence U27-12XP

Hmm, very... interesting -- I saw that last night digging like a mad-man... It doesn't say if it has software with it or how exactly you would connect that to the victron multiplus.. Guess I'll call the guy in the morning and see what he says..

    Testing my Valence U27-12XP

Got the link to the 'buy online' option? I couldn't find the "U-BMS-LV" or the programming software, or the cable to program it or I would "Just buy it"

    Testing my Valence U27-12XP

So just to clarify, because I see people saying this has been answered before, but i'll be a monkey's uncle if I'm seen a clear cut answer about it. Can I use 10 of these U27-12XP Batteries without damaging them or sacrificing their cycle life with them in parallel without any issues? I do NOT...

    1975 Airstream Rebuild

Yes sir, I did see that part about how you may have to build yourself a little 'signal sender' to the onan unit using the relay, which I think I should be able to get done. Last question I hope. If you DID use both units in 'stand-alone' mode, could you bridge the 2 110v still to make a 220V...

    1975 Airstream Rebuild

Otherwise like you said, an ATF with 2 Multi's is still quite a bit cheaper than what I had in mind, which is amazing.. do you lose any software functionality such as ability to control generator starting when the battery bank reaches X threshold in a 2 MultiPlus setup?

    1975 Airstream Rebuild

You're a great source of info sir -- I also assume you can NOT use 1 Quattro with a MultiPlus ?? As that would seem an ideal combo ( if possible ) here edit: done a bit of research and as you've indicated that is just the main and really only difference, seems that the dip switches and the...

    1975 Airstream Rebuild

What about wiring one's AC input into the generator, and having the other one's AC input from shore plug*?
  26. AirStreamJoe

    1975 Airstream Rebuild

Can the MultiPlus be wired directly to the generator and then also accept the shore power as well? I didnt think it could was the only reason I thought I needed the Quattro version? Or would I just wire ONE for shore input acceptance, and ONE to the generator?

    1975 Airstream Rebuild

Thank you Justin I think you just answered my question as to if i need 2 of those Victron Quattros for 2 reasons, 1 as you stated, they scale based on several factors, etc, load, etc that I did not infact take into account. Also in order to get the 240V for the steam generator ( they use 1...

    1975 Airstream Rebuild

Hello everyone, been watching a ton of Will Prowse's videos regarding inverter/charger/battery setups and really enjoy his information, not sure how I landed here, but I'm happy I did! I purchased a 1975 31 foot Airstream a few years ago and have just finished building the new frame from 316L...
