    extra long M8 lifepo4 bolts

I am looking for longer bolts to connect my batteries in parallel with 4-0 lugs. The bolts that came with the batteries are 8mm x 16mm with attached lock and flat washers. With 2 4/0 lugs the thread engagement seems to only be about 6mm. I can get longer bolts from a supply house but I would...

    Cable bender and stripper

I tried the Jokari 10270 Secura Cable Stripping Knife and tried to use it on 4/0 cable from Windy nation. It was really hard to extend it far enough to get the cable in. I adjusted it to start cutting the insulation the way you would use a tubing cutter to cut tubing, a little at a time. The...

Equal length battery connections, double landed buss bars

My motorhome has a BCC that would try to charge the lifepo4 batteries if I failed to have the switch in the right position. The BCC company said it could hurt the BCC and most likely hurt the altenator. The one way diodes would prevent that.

Equal length battery connections, double landed buss bars

The cpap is the only thing at this time I will have on the bus bar so I can use the lifepo4's at night with my cpap and the inverter off, I am thinking about going from the bus bar to the converter through a Blue seas 11001 3 position battery switch so I can power my heater blower like pictured

Equal length battery connections, double landed buss bars

The inverter charger from Renogy specifies 4/0 cable and a 300 amp fuse, the bus bar is also 300 amp rated

Equal length battery connections, double landed buss bars

Another fuse on the positive side of the bus bar sounds redundant, please explain, I do have a fuse inline on the cpap plug, just not shown

Equal length battery connections, double landed buss bars

If stacking ring terminals are bad how else would you connect batteries in parallel. like this drawing using 4/0 cable?

New Chins 100ah Lifepo4 battery teardown

I also bought 4 of these which I assume have the pouch cells. I got them directly from chins on ebay with a make offer of $200 each. total cost was $848 delivered. They were advertized as used and come with a 5 year warranty instead of 10 but they are clearly new. I see now they are buy it now...

    battery bank questions

After the first overnight charge on each battery the lowest was 13.44 the highest was 13.54 after the last one rested overnight. I am on the last one now on another charge on each. I actually had in my mind that 13.7 was the target for some reason. My garage is at 60 degrees.

    battery bank questions

I have 4 new Chin's lifepo4 batteries that I will connect in parallel. I am charging them individually with a 10 amp battery charger How long should a battery rest after being charged before checking voltage? What should the voltage be when fully charged after resting? How close should the...

Revised stand alone motor home power system

Inverter charger is less than 4 ft from batteries. Because of a bedroom slide and the factory converter I only have room for the batteries under the bed.

Revised stand alone motor home power system

For various reasons I am building a stand alone solar power system in my motor home to essentially use it as a power station. Last trip was dispersed camping mostly out west from Dec 30 till March, 81 days with only 9 days with hookups. We did ok with the house batteries and one 100 ah lead...

Which configuration of battery connection is best?

I revised the right picture, I had meant to do it that way to start with. I am confused as to your addition. Would it not be 100x4 to bus on left and 400 to bus on right? But I am on board about the 1awg wire not handling the load if some of the batteries trip. Sounds like the 4/0 setup on the...

Stand alone system for power in class A motorhome

I am wanting to put the battery bank under the bed where the converter is. That will be directly above the inverter. What is the purpose of the DC-DC charger? I plan on not using the generator to charge the battery bank. I am hoping that my solar will charge enough between rv parks I still want...

Stand alone system for power in class A motorhome

I am kind of back to the drawing board. So, I have two questions. On the first attachment, in the case of a battery going south would I be better with #1 or #2? on the second attachment the location of where I need to put the inverter and space available. Any suggestions on a 3000-watt inverter...

Stand alone system for power in class A motorhome

So I can charge the batteries at home or at an RV park if the solar does not keep up with demand. The Renogy is just an inverter not inverter/ charger.

Ok so is this part of the system right? What is a 3000 watt inverter is good that I can afford like the Renogy?

Stand alone system for power in class A motorhome

When I first wanted to do this project the tech at M&M Electronics mentioned that I would need a DC-DC charger from the LA to lifepo batteries but said that trying to charge 400ah of lithium batteries would probably kill my alternator often and I would have to disable my emergency start system...
