    Twisted or parallel

Following this for my build. I've also read about running the wires a certain way to prevent RF interference and other issues. Iirc they should be wrapped together tightly but I'm not certain on them being twisted. There was also something about coiling excess.

Bonding a service panel that is off grid

I'm not an expert and just regurgitating what I've learned here and elsewhere over the years. I would think you want 1 N/G bond in your main service panel. If you ever hook a generator up you need to pay attention / understand its N/G bonding requirements. I would also only install 1 ground rod...

    Solar panel security/anti-theft

Can't think of anything that wouldn't be to hard to bypass. Lock tight to make loosening more difficult, security torx bits to add another layer of annoyance, wire rope threaded through the frame or a few thousand volts and millamps running through the frame, barbed wire, are a few random thoughts.

Looking To DIY Solar + Battery System for Space Heater

Amps x Volts = Watts. Add inverter effeciency to the equation than divide by load. Edit, roughly 1 hour run time per battery.

    locating rafters on shingle roof

Thanks for the reply and advice. No permits needed in my rural area and no grid interaction. Suppose that's what I get for using the local Amish to install a new metal roof on the house when they built the garage.... It's held up great for years so far.

    locating rafters on shingle roof

Great info here, thanks. Not intending to thread jack... What if one has a metal roof over shingles (with 2x4s between the shingles and metal)? Would it be safe / secure to lag the solar mounting hardware, likely unistrut, into the 2xs? Would it be better to try to hit the rafters as well?

What would be best as a backup to EV? Powerstation vs foldable solar panels

Neither, they are not feasible yet. You'd need to many panels to haul, if you could haul them the additional weight would kill your range. I can't see the weight of additional batteries for a powerstation being feasible either. If I were going to implement something I'd find a small inverter...

JBD relays clicking in out then shut down

What app are you using? There shouldn't be a login. Precharging... One of many I found in a quick search https://diysolarforum.com/threads/inverter-capacitor-pre-charging.23340/

JBD relays clicking in out then shut down

Are you precharging the inverter before turning it on? Do you have discharge enabled in the app? What are you seeing from the BMS app when the inverter shuts down?
